KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher not draining
Thinking of buying a Bosch champion sgs55E12 – is it better than the sgs45202?? I have had a bosch for 15 years which has done well but leaking.
How long is the normal programme?
Thanks

hi Boro,
I have to share this news with you.I have found the access to pump and problem sorted (MODEL AGS43A42).It is at the bottom got to lean the appliance to the wall there are two screws to be removed at the front side of the bottom the lid comes off then u see the pump which can be removed, in mine I found a plastic chip jamming the propellor. It is working excellant now. Finally there is a float below the filter compartment has a magnetic clear side and grey side. which goes top? can u let me know please. I have grey up now. thanks for all the imformation from this site.I have saved £350 on a new dish washer, I have to cansel the order now. Thanks for all.

Grey side up is correct.
what I meant by no customer access is you can’t clear pump from the inside of the m/c. 😉June 11, 2005 at 4:55 am #131943admin

I am having troubles with a bosch dishwasher too (model Shu33a02uc/14) too. My problem is that the dishwasher keep trying to drain even though there is no water left (there is a bit in the sump, but well below the food filter). I have tried everything suggested here (i.e., cleaned the intake valve), with no luck – it is still trying to drain imaginary water. Is there a float switch or something that could be stuck on? I tried googling, but nothing is coming up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks,

Jenn,
Yes the problem is most likely a flooded baseplate in your case. Tip the machine backwards to drain off any water from it. It should work then, but you will need to call someone in your country to fix it correctly for you 🙂

Thank you Martin! It worked. Do you know why the baseplate flooding and what a repairperson will have to do to fix it (is it a small job or a big job)? “My country” is Canad by the way 🙂 .
thanks again,

It depends on what caused or is causing the leak Jenn really.
Not an easy one to answer to be honest.
Dave.

Hi, Just happened apon your site as my dishwasher, hotpoint df61 was continually pumping. Followed the instructions to tip backwards and hey presto success. Question how on earth are you meant to see what could be leaking.

Good question!
Answer really involves an expert with a toolbox to find out for you 😉
We have many such individuals dotted around the country that could investigate, just click Repairs@ to find one in your area 😀

KeymasterGents,
I have had exactly the same problems.
I have however removed the non return valve an there is still no flow.
Which pump is it that you think should be changed. I know the impellor is still working.
Any other suggestions?? 😥

Have you tried running the drain pump with its cover off for a few seconds then re-assembling?
If the pump is working (you can replace the rubber flap valve again) then it points to a blockage elsewhere.
First port of call would be the drain hose connection under the sink 😉

KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher not draining
Thanks to everybody that commented on the site. Our dishwasher wasn’t draining and it stank to high heaven. We bailed it out and removed the impeller cover and gave it a few spins. A lemon/melon pip popped out. We replaced the cover and turned it on. The dishwasher didn’t drain immediately, so we checked the drainage tube and the ‘trap’ under the sink.
Not too sure what was causing the problem (impeller or tube), but everything is working OK now.
