    Model number: WAE24063GB/19

Basically this morning come down to the wife complaining the toaster wasnt working, so I thought ah tripped fuse, checked fuses it’s tripped. Later on she complains the washing machine won’t engange. To wich I find two of the lights flashing, follow guides to suggest drainage problem, cleaned filter and emptied nothing obvious. Don’t want to start pulling the pump apart as it’s free and moving. Looked at a few guide and none seem to be helpful with this machine on how to reset codes and washing machine overall not that I think this will be useful just thought it’s worth a try.

Not sure how old it is as the next door neighbour gave it us and I replaced my trusty old Beko which was 8 years old with the only thing wrong was new bushes and a bit of rust, obviously regretting that descion. Was soley on the basis this was newer and bosch so I thought well bosch is a reliable brand…

So anywhere to start would be great.

    Flashing lights are as follows

None on Start flashing on the other two.
    Spin 0
    RINSE 1
    WASH 1

Washing machine thinks about starting and nothing.

Followed on the WAA bit, as I couldn’t find a WAE guide.

motor brushes are the first thing to check on this machine

as for age post the Fnr and we can date it

there is a reset procedure on these

    from machine off
turn knob to 6 o clock ( wait 2 secs)
press and hold the button to change the spin speed (wait 2 secs )
turn programmer knob to 7 o clock ( wait 2 secs)
    now release spin speed button
turn machine off and on again

if its worked it will start. some times it take a few goes to clear fault

if brushes are worn they can spark and throw trips so they need checking

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

Doubt the machines that old maybe 2 and half years maybe 3.

Would brushes wear that fast? Or are they poor quality some times?

I mean it was only two people that used it before us, none doing manual works or could it have just been balanced incorrectly.

Last question would me checking these void warranty or removing the belt be a void or noticable, if I had to remove the cover and possibly the motor? Could they tell?

whats the Fnr? see inside door

you also have one of the most reliable machines in the bosch range

brushes normally last 5 to 7 years average use but sometimes in damp condition and little use brushes can jam ( had a machine do that yesterday)

Thanks for the quick replies Dave.

Hopefully it is the brushes if your saying it’s reliable.

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

So nah warranty probably unless sat in factory, will take a look at the brushes then. Suppose its within the limits of possibly. What next would I need to look at?

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

you say something blew the trip. Was machine in use at the time ?

at the moment I don’t have a full idea of the fault

if you set a programme and press start what happens

    does the door lock ?

if yes can you hear any noise from the machine even if its a faint hum

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

my first call would be door lock

what worries me a bit is that it blew the trip and when door locks do that it can get serious

if it has gone pop when it failed I would expect the main timer board to have blown tracks on it. you would have to strip it out to check that

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

So if its the main board and I can’t wire the tracks. (skipping the damage)

Is it servicable without costing more then new?

If its blown surely something would of caused that not just the door lock? Plus the machine was doing a wash overnight when this happened. so the door was closed.

Can you mix PCB’s with parts because im sure they are different values and tiers to the extras on these sort of things like trim on car.

Re: BOSCH MAXX 6 Not working

there are firms that can fix the boards as long as the main chip is ok. have done them myself. if its popped the door locks can cause it as there is a small mains heater inside them. if it has gone with a pop then it will have possibly blown a triac on the board and tracks.

take the board out and look for damage and take it from there

if it has blown you have been really unlucky for a machine of this age from this Bosch factory. I have put this range into heavy use situation and have got years out of them.
