Keymasterdear all,
after a few months of trouble-free operation i’m starting to have problems with this model. whenever you try and start a programme the first light on the panel lights up (symbol of water-spray above it) and the go button flashes and there’s a regular beeping sound. any ideas what this means? am in the oxford area if anyone’s local!
cheers!

Count the number of flashes, they will correspond to an error code.
On error condition (whatever the error) it will always revert to first program (rinse) and the start button will flash. There will be a number of flashes then a pause and the flashes will repeat.April 7, 2004 at 10:40 pm #110611bodajmac

remembered the log-in this time! it’s still a problem i’m afraid – we’ve got a callout booked for next tuesday but any help to solve it before then would be much appreciated!
not having much luck with the number of flashes approach – i gave up once i’d counted to 50, so i suppose this might mean that the code in question is just a single flash with a pause after each!
thanks in advance everyone!

OK. If this is the machine I’m thinking it is, Whirlpool badged, single flash is NTC fault. (Water temperature sensor).

thanks for the info – i’m fairly sure the service people said it would be a whirlpool engineer coming out, so that makes sense. if it is a problem with the water temperature sensor does that mean a replacement part is likely to be required? is it usual to get this kind of failure after only 4 months or so of use?
thanks again,

There has been a problem with NTC failures over several months and the design of the ntc has changed.
If you have a whirlpool engineer coming out then there are only two NTC’s in the range and both should be van stock.
Whirlpool give 12 months guarantee on the repair so make sure you get a proper job docket from the engineer as the repair will carry 12 months warrenty which of course will outlast your appliance guarantee.
You might find it handy to save this proof of repair for 12 months in a safe place( nudge, nudge, wink wink etc….ted

Hi Everyone
I’ve just stumbled across this site as I’m trying to trace a Diplomat ADP 8322 Dishwasher that’s about to be installed in a flat that I’m buying. This appears to be the only reference on the web for this particular ‘Whirlpool’ machine? Can anyone explain the lack of sites selling this model and where the developers may have possibly sourced this machine from? It seems a strange choice to me. Any background info much appreciated.
Thanks

KeymasterHi Nigel,
Probably the reason that you can’t find much in reference to that particular model number is that it a special made for MFI, who also own Howdens, the builders merchant. The connection with Howdens is the most likely reason that the developers have used that appliance.

hi again all,
just wanted to say thanks very much – the man from whirlpool came to check it out and it was exactly as you predicted, a problem with the NTC which he replaced there and then, and everything’s working fine now. this is a great site – thanks again!

Hi all,
I have just installed my ADP8322 and I am experiencing the following problem: about 10 minutes into any wash program the machine starts to beep. The Start light is flashing to the following code: FLASH-FLASH-PAUSE repeat…
Does anyone know if this corresponds to a simple problem that I can rectify or should I call MFI and have the machine repaired/replaced?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I really wish I knew all the model numbers by heart. Don’t though so guessing this is a whirlpool. If it is, two flashes = fault code F2
F2. Water leakage. Floater switch LS6 in drip tray has switched

Oooopppppssssss. The other thing to check is that the water isn’t being siphoned from the machine. Had one today with the drain hose too far into the stand pipe. As it started to wash it emptied, bringing up the F2 error.

ah this sounds like the exact problem I have with a brand new whirlpool built in dishwasher. its beeping continuously and flashes 8 times- any idea what this code is? Have got a callout booked but both me and the missus work all week and first saturday they can do is in June 🙁

8 flashes is a water level failure. Is your drain onto a spigot under the sink or into a stand pipe? If it’s a stand pipe I’d guess it’s siphoning. If it’s a spigot, does the machine drain? If not, check that the blanks are out of the spigot.
