ParticipantDear All,
Hopefully someone can help me, I have just come home from work to find my girlfriend cleaning up glass. Basically the hinges on my Select 620 had broken so the door on the oven would never shut correctly, and opens far enough to smash if not opened with care.
My 👿 girlfriend 👿 has opened the door forgetting that nothing is stoping it from falling near enough to the floor, resulting in the outter glass smashing in to little bits.
I would like some advice to whether this is repairable, and if so can i get the complete door second hand or the front panel glass and new hinges, and anything else i may need like the glass seal/glue.
Many Thanks
JPS If there is a chance i will check the model number, but thought i would quickly ask first.

Yup, model number required. “620” is just a generic grouping. Model number starts “ADP—-“.

Normally on the side of the oven, you’ll have to pull it out of the housing to see it.

Is that an easy task?

Single oven will normally be retained in its housing by two or four screws through the oven frame. Remove them and the oven can be slipped forward.
A double oven unit may have up to 6 retaining screws. Removal should be considered a two man job – some units are very heavy.
Just in case the cable is a bit short, isolate the power first.

OK, well thanks everyone.
I removed the four screws and i found it!!

Just to confirm i have smashed the outter door glass and the spring hinges are both playing up but they look repairable with big enough tools.
Would any one recommend a new/second hand door? or should i get new glass, repair the hinge’s and stick it all back together, or finally should i order new hinges and glass and stick it all together?
Confused, cheapest, yet do-able, i need cooked food again! ASAP!!

those oven doors are made up of few parts normally u get glass only.
The diffrent parts that make the oven door areinner glass
outer glass
2 x black colums held in by 3 screws on each side , once u removed this its fairly straight forward and u can see everything.
2 x small black blocks 1 screw in each at top
2 x bottom hooks to stop inner glass falling down and out + need to remove these to replace hinges.
1 x door handle plus 2 screws
2 x door hinges 1 left 1 right
2 x2 screws to hold door hinges inOctober 25, 2008 at 4:14 pm #265919JJHawk

Nope – for reasons known only to whichever version of MFI is currently trading, the door assembly is obsolete.
