No lights will come on at all. Live feed to the small on/off switch which is working allowing live to pcb. Neutral into pcb as well.
No signs of any component failure, machine not subject to heavy use.
Has anyone else encountered this fault, I can only assume there is a pcb fault unless you know better.?

I could be totally wrong (generally I am) but was there not an energy saving option / setting on this model?

Just gone through all the tech info including all the service bulletins and wiring diagram. I have one of these myself and checked user manual for energy saving options but couldn’t find any mention of them. 🙁

There will be an energy save mode but it’d be regulated by the board Jim, not configurable and all it’ll do is turn off the lighting usually.
Other than that, the display is likely fried. 🙁

Bummer, at £190 a throw I am not sure I would like to take the risk of ordering and fitting a control panel just in case the fault lies elsewhere or something else has caused it in the first place. 🙁
Customer says there was no warning, no noises or anything on last use, just dead when trying to switch it on?

Well I never, just tried our machine on a 1 minute drain and sure enough the small lcd screen that was showing ‘End’ went off completely after 2 minutes. The small lights next to the buttons remained on, it’s those that confused me. 😳

Yeah it’s to save a minuscule amount of energy to play to the energy labelling.
Madness in some ways but that’s what it should do.

Hi Jim,
I had this exact problem a few months ago, I asked the customer to purchase the display pcb themselves as I didn’t want them to take the risk.
Fitted and all working now since early May.Interestingly when I had a close look at the display pcb I did notice a cracked microchip

Ha yes exactly, too rich for my blood, cant risk spending near £200 of my own cash on a pcb!
Unfortunately there is a difference in asking someone else to gamble £200 than gambling myself!.
I would be interested to know what caused it as well, but I checked all the other components so I thought its worth asking the customer to buy the part.

that “chip” looks more like a power supply part given the pin layout. Maybe a power surge? If there was another fault then I am sure it would have gone pop as soon as the new board was powered up.
Would suggest a quick peek at the motor pcb in the base before doing anything to check that is not blown and also check the heater ntc as they can sit in leaked water causing earth shorts.
I think the “on off” switch is only a standby switch on these so the pcb is always powered up unless turned off at the plug…. seems a daft idea to offer an energy saving option for a backlight while the pcb is drawing power 24/7. a proper on off switch would have be the better option.
