Can I plead with you in this instant just to BACK OFF, let the guys at WTA do their stirling work in getting this thing sorted. After all you will no doubt be an eventual beneficiary toward all this in the fullness of time.

I have nothing against the WTA, its heading in the right direction, but i wont hand over my hard earned until i am satisfied its the right decision for my business. Until then i will have my opinion thanks.
It’s a WTA thing, you are not a WTA member. And neither am I as it so happens (if that’s of any interest to you?) but I like most congratulate the endless amount of trouble, effort and expense the WTA guys are going through right now on our behalf.

I have said that i also congratulate the WTA boys(if thats of any interest to you?)
Open debate is as always welcomed and your comments are duly noted. In this instant it’s time you back off and shut it, do us all a favour…OK?

This takes me back to the very first UKWG’s meeting I ever attended. 🙂

A few of us were discussing certain forum members postings and one person in particular who just happens to be a Burnley FC supporter came up with the most apt description of a ‘certain’ type of person. 😉

Alf called them ‘ keyboard terrorists’ , I think we have another in our midst. :rolls:

DrDill like anyone else is totally entitled to his or her opinion and comment on here. I’ve no truck with that whatsoever as it’s a golden rule I really like to uphold.

Whilst the conversation may degenerate into what may appear at first glance is a slagging match it quite often isn’t, even if feelings perhaps run high on certain topics. Or appear to.

A lot of people find it difficult to articulate well in the medium of email or any text based system and that’s absolutely fine. Again, I’ve no truck with it.

What I’ve asked for from DrDill is a more in-depth explanation of the position and an explanation for some of the comments or quips which, as yet, have not been forthcoming.

Now, like any semi-intelligent person, I’m perfectly happy to have a debate on position, strategy or whatever really but, it has to be a debate and the argument has to be presented from both sides of the debate. That means that, you don’t duck questions just because you don’t like them or you don’t bother to explain your argument at all. The reason why is that, you come across as not being aware of why you arguing the point/s that you are, you’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.

What irked me earlier and, I’ll make no bones about it to DrDill or anyone else, is the insinuations being made and the accusations levelled with absolutely not a shred of evidence to back them up. I find it wholly offensive and I can speak openly without the shackles of being a member of the WTA team beyond consultancy.

I sat and thought earlier, “why doesn’t he have a go at DASA, AMDEA and whoever else as well?” The answer I suspect is that none of them have an open and public medium in which to do so. The WTA is the ONLY one that will answer such questions and issues in a public manner. Full stop, end of story.

But at the end of the day, it’s DrDill’s opinion.

How other people perceive it and, importantly, react to it is beyond my control and his.

All I’d say is, if you want to present an argument to anything you like them please feel free to do so. Don’t let the fact that you may think you’re “getting jumped on” put you off as sometimes there’s a few good points in the argument.

But I’d also say, think about what you’re saying and the argument that you’re presenting first, before you start gobbing off. And, I issue that warning because, irrespective of who you are, there’s always someone out there that’s smarter, more quick witted and generally more articulate than you are.

So DrDill, I’m happy to debate this if you like, more than happy to do so as I’d in fact welcome the challenge.

Over to you, the ball’s in your court just please don’t ignore the bits you don’t like and actually answer the points and flaws in your arguments that are highlighted.

DrDill… You have my mobile number, instead of typing stuff that can be mis-interpreted or mis-read etc, ring me, ask me why you can’t see the OFT Report and I’ll give you an honest answer. Simples!

I personally hate seeing threads like this. It’s just pointless. DrDill, the WTA are trying to improve things for OUR trade, END OF. We are NOT a ‘Cartel’, we invited WTA members to comment or give their opinions to the OFT, and I decided to open that invite up to the general trade, as we’re all the same, regardless of TA membership.

We ALL want / need Tech info from manufacturers to keep trading and expand our businesses, we’re in the same boat DrDill, like it or lump it.

I’d appreciate a call when you have 5, so we can actually talk, rather than keep getting misunderstood.

I have no need to ring you aidrian, you may hate seeing threads like this but it was your Chairman that started the thread and i simply asked why i couldnt see it, Lawrence has responded and i have accepted his reply and i thank him for the time in responding. There has been no misunderstanding on my part, so there was no need for you to jump in, also you have my telephone number too. As far as i am concerned the thread topic has been concluded and thats the end of it, simples.

I will now reply to the other posts that mostly are not in relation to the thread topic.

So, what you’re saying is that it’s okay for you to ask questions and you expect answers and, it’s okay for you to try to assert your own opinion…

Ehm, is it just me or is that not quite how the world works?

If you want to act like that then, frankly, you’re not worth the bother of talking to as it’s clear you’ve made up your mind about whatever it is you’ve made up your mind about and all you want to do is shout about it, to someone, anyone.

If you want to have an opinion then that’s absolutely fine, no problem. Just don’t expect everyone or, anyone, to hold the same view or opinion as you do.

If you cannot or are unwilling to explain your position and why you hold the views that you do then I regard that as idiocy, especially when you air them in a “public” forum and basically cast accusations and aspersions that have no grounding in fact and no evidence to support them.

Or is it that you just want to sling mud at whoever?

If you want to have your opinion and views taken seriously then you have to explain them.

I would respectfully suggest that, instead of launching back the minute that you read this, you think about it first and come up with something that’s actually constructive to say rather than taking the tact that things are the way they are because you say so.

I don’t know anything about anything you’re saying because you have again spectacularly failed to explain your points and again not answered any of the questions posed to you.

I’m sorry but you just cannot come on here or, into any other form of open conversation and expect that you can just toss a comment or comments that are offensive and untrue and not expect to get picked up on it.

Now, I’m going to do exactly what I did the last time you were having a go at me, UKW, the WTA and whoever else…

Answer the questions asked please!

Or, alternatively I will happily assume that you cannot answer because you have no answers, no explanations for your little outbursts and the odd tantrum that you appear to throw but of course, that’s just my opinion. And I will proceed to just ignore you as, if you cannot explain your sarcastic comments then I will regard you as pretty much not really worthy of even listening to.

I will regard a lot of your posts as being “trolling” which it is becoming clearer and clearer from the lack of sensible and reasoned responses, that you actually are. Or, I can only assume that.

As to your comment about removal, you can remove yourself from the forums and the computer has this wonderful invention on it, it’s called a power button and, when you press it, all this just goes away as if by magic and you don’t have to justify your comments to anyone, except yourself of course but I’m sure you can cope with that.

I’ve been reading this thread and all i can say is DrDill please just give one long reply to the many questions posted or just drop the bone, Then i can see your point for myself. Your initial question i think has been more than answered so what are you after now? Or are you just intent on just having the last word?
