    hotpoint dryer burt garage down last year fluff,not cleaned out

    Interesting stuff. Are the replacement capacitors the same rating? Apart from replacing and repositioning them what other mods were required to satisfy the safety recall?

    Does anybody remember a time in history when everything was perfect and nobody died, got mugged, house burn’t down, didn’t pay tax etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

    No i’d didn’t think so……. I do remember, but only just, a time when people didn’t cast blame and moan so much, preferring to think for themselves, got of there arses and simply got on with life.

    It’s Interesting that they are repositioning them, if it was purely a bad batch of capacitors you would expect it to be just a direct swap out.

    Capacitors don’t generally get hot but they are often thermally rated and can produce some heat.

    Possably a combination of bad capacitors with poor ventilation

    Or the fact the capacitor is sited to near the duct, which would have heat and moisture

    At the end of the day you have to look at the whole picture, any manufacture can have this kind of issue but what is absolutely worrying is you have a company that has 3 separate products that have a major problem that can lead to fire or death.

    It shows something is badly wrong somware with in Beko.
