Keymaster😕 I have recently moved into a flat that has a fitted washer dryer. The only problem is that the dryer cycle does not seem to produce any heat into the drum. The top of the machine casing however does warm up which would indicate that a heating element is working but the heat just does not appear to find its way into the drum.
Can you please offer any adviseApril 22, 2005 at 7:05 am #132622Martin

Allan,
Very likely a few things need to be looked at, the blower fan, inlet valve, condenser ducting etc. Not a DIY job though I would suggest you see if we have someone in your area that can fix it for you (see link below). What is the model number of your machine by the way?

Yes having checked out the possibilities the blower fan belt had come off. However when replaced it runs at only about 1 rev per second, which is not enough to drive the hot air through. Can you offer any further advice please.

Participantcan it be that something is stuck and thats why the belt went off at first place?

A new washer dryer would be very nice but at £500 a time for the luxury of being built in its a non starter for such a small problem.
The blower fan turns freely its the motor that turns slowly with or without the drive belt fitted. What should the rpm of the motor be? What is likely to be the fault? Thanks Allan 😆April 28, 2005 at 7:06 am #132633Martin

Not sure of the fan motors speed (1,000rpm maybe?) but quite fast, so if the belt is removed and it runs slower than that, that’s the fault sussed
A new one can be supplied by emailing us at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk
quoting the part number : 1248254102. 😀

As this is a shaded pole type motor, it should run at a nominal 2800 rpm
