ParticipantSIOS (The Whirlpool info CD) states F4 is a drain-out failure OR a computer board failure.
Put up your postcode and someone on here will help you.(We’ve got twins and survived – you CAN do it with 3!)

ParticipantHad a look on the database and no-one is coming up as “WS”. Might be a case of Yellow Pages on Monday morning – see if anyone has a DASA logo or Fairtrades – usually a guide to a reputable trader. If not – Whirlpool, but might be a bit of a bill.
If you DO find an independant, tell him to sign up on this site!
Good luck,
Penguin.

KeymasterIf it’s a pump blockage tripletman it should be fairly simple to resolve, check the filter as well if there is one as that could possibly throw up the error as well.
Other than that if you’re unsure I’d recommend that you call in someone that knows the appliance.

Same machine, same problem. I’ve checked the pump and impeller not blocked. Hose OK, filter clean. I need an engineer.

KeymasterRe: F4 on similar adp / 6th Sense model DW
Similar model – one week old. F4 occurs near start of ANY cycle. There are two questions:
1) is it “normal” to DW to whir for about one minute before calling for water?
2) after first call for water, 5-10sec delay then F4 raised.
I’ve checked for filter, blockage, etc and none indicated (we pre-rinse before load … old habits die hard!).
Any specific diagnostic info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the drain pump will be the “whirring” making sure no excess water is inside the dishwasher before starting the prgramme.

Any specific diagnostic info would be greatly appreciated. There won’t anything specific I’m afraid, fault codes are not meant to be, they are merely there for engineers guidance. They are quite often inconclusive and sometimes innacurate.
F4 means that the dishwasher isn’t draining basically, which it probably is so there is an error in the water level “reporting” part.

Have had this on few of the newer machines lately. Changing the NTC cured it.

KeymasterRe: F4 on adp5966 whirlpool dishwasher
My dishwasher is also having the same problem (F4), seems like it might be the pump, I can hear the motor come on but no water are being pumped. Postcode is SP10, can someone give me an idea what repairs would cost. Engineer + new parts.
Thinking of buying a new dishwasher, Hoover, hopefully more reliable then this piece of …………; Hoover is about £250.
