    Hi

I have exactly the same oven with the exact same problem.
My question is how do I install the new element?

We are not allowed to give specific instructions for a variety of reasons. Plaese check:

Sufficed to say that removing the rear inner panel of the oven (with the power off) may lead to enlightenment.

I also have the same oven I think – APL 3301/2 Type B12 according to the sticker – and with the same problem. My question is: how many elements do these ovens have? Although the fan oven’s packed up, we can still use the the oven on the other settings.

There are three, the upper twin for grill/static oven, the base also for static cooking and the fan element which is the likely failure in this case.

Element is here if you need one:

Re: Fan Oven not heating up

For the second time in under two years the heating element of my NEFF oven B143ONOGB/05 has packed up.
    Is this normal?

    Hi Coco,

Sadly and element is like a light bulb and there’s no guaranteed life span on it really.

    Thanks K.
Does that explain why most ovens seem to go over 10 years without needing replacement elements?

Is it anything to do with the quality of the oven?

I dont want to keep paying out for replacements and labour if my problem boils down to the oven quality.

    Thanks for your advice

It’s not unheard of to be honest, make sure the fan is running correctly as this can cause premature failure.

If you need the element, it’s here in the shop:

Thanks Dave. Fan seems to be ok, i.e. I hear it whirring away whenever the oven is on and for a while after.
Do you think premature failure has anything to do with the quality of the appliance?
    I would appreciate your thoughts…

Not necessarily, use and mis-use are often a factors to consider as well. Leaving the oven door open for prolonged periods with the fan element glowing merrily in the cavity is one. Blocking the general airflow with unnecessary baking trays and roasting dishes. Even seen some folks putting kitchen foil on the wire shelves……. ❓

Neff and other German manufacturers were often guilty of fitting elements rated at 200 to 220 volts also. And the voltage standard in the UK being 230 volts meant the element exceeded its wattage rating when higher voltages were applied, causing early failure. 🙁

The replacement element ( available from Shop@) however has no such worries and may even be of a better quality standard anyway than that of the genuine manufacturers replacement 😉
