Phil Beddoes rang me today ,and during the conversation he intimated that he would like to bring some product along with adisplay stand etsc ,apparently they took it to the DASA Gig so he feels he should come to us ,also he can bring Lokring ,Is it worth starting a hitlist for Ian to invite and Bryan to assign fllorspace to ?

Have already invited Beko so might as well get going. If you have anyone you want to come let me know so that I can send out a formal invite.

With Regards to charging for stands I had a thought ,If a company is doing a “deal for the day” promotion should we still charge them ?

For example I am about to invite a tools supplier that I hope will bring product to sell on the day,now I know that what they sell would offset what they pay but I need to get them there in the first place ,the same with the Work wear company ,the problem is that we are an unknown quantity to them as we don’t orbit in there world.
    Thoughts ?

We are having to flog a package here – as Lawrence said above it makes more sense to give them a free stand the first time around and then charge them if they come again. As an example I have got Ebac coming who shortly will be producing a UK built washing machine and will need engineers to service them. Thats a double hitter

    IMO Charge for stand!

If they plan to sell on the day then its up to them to push and sell and they will recoop that fee!

Also they will have had all names and details of members which they could mail shot directly next time, so if you dont charge then the chance is they wont return next time as they have already thier marketing list and wont need too come.

Also it keeps it the same easier for T to invoice.
You will have one saying I been the last few times and had to pay every time etc…. not worth agro.

Clothing is difficult to do as everyone logo etc will be charged for as initial set up costs.
So unless they dont charge for this service then may as well deal with your own local companies and TBH you may get better deal with close to home any way.
No harm in inviting them if they are national see what they offer!

    Re: Feb 2013 Meeting

Can I suggest the following is sent to those that we know want a stand and any that show an interest ?

Can someone check it for Grammar and wording errors …

Thank you for requesting stand space at the 2013 Whitegoods conference ,If you have joined us previously you will be aware of the size of the venue and the exposure gained to both old and new clients,

If this is your first time with us, for the 3rd successive year we have secured the master ballroom in the hilton hotel at Coventry with an adjoining presentation suite comprising of (BRYAN FILL THIS IN PLEASE ) standspace of 3 mtrs sq
The day is a mix of both presentations and opportunities to browse the stands and network.
The conference attracts a diversity of delegates ranging from sole traders to multi engineer companies ,alongside service managers and directors from manufacturers of whitegoods , both national and multi national ,so the exposure to your products /services is potentially vast .
Obviously the conference facility does not come cheap ,and whilst the WTA subsides some of the cost ,we ask for a donation of £250 towards costs for the day ,you may wish to access your client database to invite them to meet you on the day ,if you do and req any logos etc then please contact WTA admin on admin@whitegoodstradeassociation.org ,

I wouldn’t use “donation”. That makes it optional and some companies will take the piss.
