    I don’t think Nyle machine is a real product.They have no any detail information. I even can’t send email to them

    Haven’t read all the posts but it seems to me that the issue of moisture freezing up on the evaporator would be huge. Then your up for large elements to defrost (back to electric elements to do the drying in the first place, or constantly reversing the cycle with subsequent slow drying. And of course you still need a motor to turn the darn thing.

    Yesterday at the AMDEA show AEG were proudly showing their A rated T59800 tumble drier. So let’s see how it goes!

    Having first hand experience at the implementaion of heat pump technology used in domestic and commercial swimming pools. They are extremely expensive to buy, very slow and cost a fortune in electricity to run….only for the rich with big wallets.

    The PDF file shows exactly the same principle being used only in a more compact form and presumably contained within a 600wide 600deep by 820 high cabinet?????????….impossible!!!! :rtm:

    Using heat pumps here in Australia for heating is common as they are used for room cooling and if reverse cycle are a very efficient heater, using around 1/3 the electricity an equivalent output resistance heater would use.

    It appeared to me from the PFD file the main problem apart from initial cost would be keeping the evaporator and condensor clean. If the heat exchanger units could be built into the machine so as to be accesable these parts could be cleaned.

    In relation to cost recovery, at 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} running cost and acording to another post in this thread a 5.5 year recovery of the aditional cost, if I had purchased a heat pump dryer 11 years ago instead of the resistance heated one I did buy, I would have recovered the entire purchase price by now. As for reliability, my heat pump refrigerator has run for the last 14 years without a hitch while I have replaced the heater element in my dryer 2 years ago.
