ParticipantHi
My trusty old Hoover Logic 1200 A3786 has decided that the motor shouldn’t move when washing or spinning cycle is reached. Could this simply be the carbon brushes?June 5, 2016 at 4:38 pm #438212electrofix

When going into spin cycle, the drum sometimes bangs what sounds like the side of the machine body, although there is no damage. The suspension looks okay, does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

As is always the case the two suspension springs and the metal shaft mounts twist out of shape. The tub then sits slightly at an angle and leans a little to one side. The only cure is to replace both suspension mounts/nylon cups/washers and shaft. Probably obsolete these days and a bitch of a job access wise.

Thank very much for your replies, I have been on a bit of a mission to keep this old girl going.
I’ll have a look at those kits Dave.
and I’ll have a closer look at the machine and get an idea of what is involved and how difficult it would be to remove and fit the suspension.
Thanks again for your help gents.

suspension kit is a bit of a pig to fit but done lots of them so when your ready will give you a few hints
you will need a Stilton wrench and a 13 mm ring spanner to removeDave

Thanks Dave, that would be great.
I had a look at the Qualtex website but I couldn’t find the suspension kit.
I’ll call them later and speak to someone.

Yea they are I bit of a pig to fit,
If you take the lid off you can see if the drum is slightly twistedJune 6, 2016 at 1:08 pm #438224juicehills

I did notice yesterday that the white plastic/nylon buts are split!
I’ll take the lid off when I get home and look. Are bolts likely to bend?

The kit was called an anti twist kit, not sure if it’s still the same
