Thanks Andy, I’ll check all these points out before I go any further.
I bought a bearing kit from the site but I didn’t get a new foam gasket with it. If it turns out not to be viable, I may be able to return the kit.

I managed to patch up the backplate on my Logic with Chemical metal, which has worked well. Unless the whole thing falls to pieces, don’t worry to much but the bearings are a litte tricky.

Hello there it is me again.
As can be seen from previous posts, I replaced the suspension kit to solve issue of drum banging on the sides and I’m afraid to say that the drum still doesn’t sit straight and if anything, the problem is worse!
The brackets on the drum and the chassis appear okay so I would appreciate any suggestions as to how the drum can be centred?
I noticed that there are 3 holes on the drum bracket, at the moment the rods are located in the middle ones, is this correct?
Thanks for any help
Colin

What are you referring to as the “drum bracket?”

The one that is mounted on the drum housing and where the suspension rods are bolted onto.

The drum appears to float about too freely and is decidedly leaning to the left, looking from the front of the machine

I see, yes the centre hole. Clearly the domed tub mounting is worn and the rubber grommets don’t compress down enough to compensate. You may have to do a little ‘modification’ to at least one if not both suspension rods.

What do you suggest, a washer or two until the drum straightens up?

Yes that often cures. The cup and nylon cone need compressing tighter and the rubber washer can only do that with extra washers. Unfortunately there is limited access to do a more radical mod on the shaft (the nut) end.

Hi Martin
I managed to compress the rubber washer a lot more and that has certainly made a big difference. It’s not perfect but it is an elderly machine.thanks very much for your advice.
