    Hi
Just bought this Hoover Vision HD VHV680F 8kg Vented Tumble Dryer machine from Currys yesterday and ran a full load last night with no problems. Put another load on this morning and the machine runs for approx 30 seconds then shuts down and all the indicator lights start flashing together. Ive reset the machine and cleaned the filter and vent hose ( both clean anyway) but no good, any ideas helpful
    Cheers

The lights should flash in a pattern – ie, 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat. This represents an error code.

No they arent coming on in a sequence, they are all flashing together repeatedly until you turn the machine off and on again, then the process just repeats itself.

its way to cold.. thats the problem

there isnt a solution as yet. unless you put a bowl of hot water in the drum for 5 mins before using it, or taske it in the house!!

Thanks for the reply helo_75. I guess I will just have to wait until it warms up again…Then I can use a clothes line instead of the dryer

Thanks for the info, I have just discovered this problem on my new drier. Have put a bowl of hot water into it. Do you mean to empty it, or just let it sit. Also, do you know what the ambient temp has to drop to to trigger this response, since I have the drier in an unheated room off the back of the house. If this is going to be an ongoing issue, will have to consider an alternative machine.

Correct….. They will figure out a solution and might even do it within your warranty period. It’ll probably involve relpacing the sensors and the pcb, so it will cost them an arm and a leg. Don’t expect an instant fix.

Purchased the same on New Years Day and now wish I had gone for the Zanussi 🙁 The machine is in the house (warm 😛 ) but still having the flashing lights so called the engineer today who came around and advised me that the outside air temp was too cold for the machine to operate and that I should vent through a window rather that through the hole I have made though the wall :bang: Surely a vented dryer should be able to cope with outside air temperatures!! Will be swaping for the Zanussi soon….

    aparantly not….

according to the manufacturers (not just hoover/candy) it simply isnt a fault

the dryer will function normally, if the correct operating ambient temperatures are evident

coming soon from candy.. the chocalate fireguard.. and the motorbike ashtray

the manufacturers recommend the room temperature of over 5 degrees

the bowl of water trick doesnt work

i found the best thing is to start the dryer 5-6 times

eventually itll generate enough heat to warm the thermistor enough to keep it going
sorry i cant help much more, ive found the 5-6 starts works ok

But Britain is a cool climate; the consumer has a right to expect that a tumble drier sold for use in the UK, should operate in a cool room or garage.

It would probably be beneficial for the purchaser to return the appliance to the shop, stating that the goods are not fit for the purpose for which they were sold.

    i love people like you

its the consumers responsibilty to check working tolerances
if you werent all too busy buying cheaply imported stuff in the first place, we’d still have a manufacturer in the uk.. who would work with our climate!

this has been discussed at length, and im sick of this not fit for purpose rubbish

the dryer willl work, and will, quite happily in the evironment recommended by the manufaturer

so…. what happens, u march in the store, shouting the odds, and hoover take it back…. try it, in their workshop and it works… hows that not fit for purpose..

what next? having new tyres everytime your car slips on ice?

you really need to see the bigger picture

    Why?

If the use and installation requirements were explained to the retailer.
