Lost me there, why would you need to remove the rear fan or even remove the back panel heater cover?

You can then pivot the motor with 1 bolt still fitted. Makes fitting the belt dead easy. Like I said just my way. Perhaps I’ll try it the other way next time

Ah, that was the old Hotpoint method for the belt change wasn’t it?

A standard sized, flat bladed screwdriver is what I use to lever the belt back over the pulley.

I don’t remove the back or loosen any motor screws.

quick update, new part from ukwhitegoods shop fitted and all working again.
