ParticipantHello, my DW isn’t completing the cycle and would really appreciate some advice. As usual I choose the first program setting from the left, Auto Super Wash. The washer starts but finishes faster than normal, all the items are wet and cold and the tablet doesn’t get released so items remain dirty. Also, the last program (Auto Duo Wash) light is flashing and the only way to get rid of this is to turn the DW off for a few minutes. I am sure that when it worked in the past the light of the program I selected initially would be illuminated after the wash. Seems like it stops mid cycle.
I have cleaned filters, used a different program and checked that nothing was obstructing the wash blades but with no success.
How and when do the tablet door open?
Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

The flashing light is an error code, if you have six or seven lights and the last one on the right is flashing that suggests a no heat fault. A very common problem on these Indesit machines.
The machine needs isolating from the mains, dragging out and then the heating element needs testing with a suitable megger or multimeter.
If the heater is OK then it’s odds on that the main pcb is at fault.

Thank you for your quick and informative response. I will investigate this further tomorrow and post my results.
Just for my own knowledge, when and how does the tablet door open on the cycle?

It can depend upon which cycle you select, some programmes include a prewash. In most cases the dispenser is opened shortly after the main wash starts, at about the same time as the heater is switched on.

Update – took DW out today (it’s integrated by the way). Not too sure what tests I could do once it’s disconnected and on its side. Done a continuity test on the heat element and all seemed fine. Is there any thing else I should check for?
I also opened the front to view the PCB, there was no sign of a fault – What tests can I perform on this as I can’t find a circuit diagram anywhere? Manual isn’t informative enough for this issue.
As it is, I’m unsure on what step to take now. Hotpoint aren’t helpful at all – minimum £90 call out is their only suggestion.
Can’t find a replacement PCB for this machine either to gauge I should just give up or persevere.
Any advice or help is very much appreciated.

If you are certain that the heater is fine then I would bet good money on the pcb being at fault, rare to see any visible damage, just poor quality components. Two different pcb’s used, full serial number needed to identify, both around £70/£75,

Hi, an update on this. I sent the board away for repair. On retry the results seem worse. When the machines starts it almost suddenly stops with the 6th light flashing (glasses). Any idea what this relates to or have I not connected the part correctly
Apparently the heater part of the board was fixed so want to cover all angles before I go back to the engineer?
Thanks once again for your help.

That is a thermistor fault, did you locate the thermistor correctly in the door clip?

Thanks for the quick response. I am going to open it back up now (integrated so bit of agro). Not too sure what that is, any further info to assist me. All i done was connect the board on the left side of the door looking at it head on trying to follow pics from when i took it out.
I’ll feed back soon.

As long as you can switch off the power you don’t need to drag it out. The thermistor is the temp sensor that should be hard wired to the pcb. It slots into a small clip inside the door inner panel.

Is there a way I can upload a pic of what i’m looking at? Or is there a pic on Google which i might recognise?

The thermistor Is the small, whitish thing that is directly attached to the pcb by two, usually black wires, you still have that on yours don’t you?
