Would have thought it was under five years old, throw it back to the Indesit Company. 😥

A quick fix is to use a small drill and at the end of the crack drill a hole this will stop it spreading further. It works as the hole releases the stress in the crack. Common practice when I was in the RAF.
There is a repair kit and as soon as i find number of it I will let you know.
You could however go back to indesit as the machine is under 5 year warranty.February 17, 2007 at 10:32 pm #204621iadom

Were you in airframe maintenance? Didn’t work on any Comet (Nimrods) I hope. 😯

Yes helo it was. Look back through thread. I offered guy with problem a possible solution and all iadom ( It All Depends On Me) can do is take pee. If these so called moderators are so good at fixing machines or better still think they can design one better ones than the manufacturers why dont they put they knowledge where there mouths are? Oh yes i forgot the famed ISA machine.

Its ISE actually, 😛
I had the good fortune to work for Hotpoint when the company had real backbone, over 11 years in fact, far longer than you have done if my memory is correct. I also have another 28 years experience in this trade. It gives me no cause for satisfaction to see the sorry state of the rubbish masquarading as Hotpoint machines that your employers are throwing out on the market and I don’t enjoy telling long established Hotpoint devotees amongst my customers that they have bought an Indesit.
It is not rocket science, or even aero science 😉 to be able to design a robust, reliable decent quality machine that will last ten years or more, but your employers seem to be completely unable to grasp that concept. I do feel some sympathy with the engineers who have to work on this type of equipment every day, Thankfully one of the very few pleasures of being self employed is that I do have a choice.
Jim.
NB. I have installed 63 ISE machines to date. In 12 months there has only been one component failure on any of these machines on my patch. 8)

well it looks like i started someting of a slagging match but if they will build machines like this what do they expect
cut my teeth on early 1600 auto and 18 series built like tanks solid but they still had their faults. who remembers the power board and PMC on the 1600 series and if you switched the machine off in spin it could blow the electronics.
All new machines have to contend with the same problem they are in a blinkered market where price wins over build quaility
would like the number of the mod kit if you can find it now my customer has bought this rubbish i feel duty bound to try to help
many thanks
Dave
