ModeratorFlooded base, as anyone who has worked on these Bosch clones knows, access to the innards on these is not easy.
With the sides removed I can see a drip from below the heater box, but only when the circulation pump is running.
Although I can see the drip , I cannot see exactly where it is coming from.
Not had to change one of these before, anyone seen this unit leaking, or could something else be dripping onto the box first. Two different units at around £100 so any help would be appreciated before I order parts.
Jim.

Hi Jim
If its like the instantaneous heater in bosch, the ‘O’ rings weep occassionally where the heater box mounts onto sump. Remove box, clean ‘O’ rings and manifold ,bobs your uncle 😀Greg

It’s unlikely the Heater Unit itself is leaking and more likely the ‘O’ rings from the inlet/outlet ports of the heater box that are the cause?

Appliance on back with base loosened, you can lower base away to gain access, bit of a pig but do able.Greg

Done loads of the slimine, Hotpoint/Bosch ones by dropping the base, they are a pain to work on as well.

Oh for goodness sake, don’t fuff about fighting against the forces of gravity by lying it on its back 🙄
Much easier (and a darned sight quicker) just lifting the tub away :lesson:

ParticipantYep dont muck around you may as well take the units shell of if you havent done it before or been shown youll struggle,I normally take the top shell of and fill the white bowl up you will then see the fault may be grime on the seals if you look for short cuts it may take longer i agree with Martin on this one good luck.

On its back on work mate job done, whats with this tub off? The base ajar gives you more than enough room to change any under component.
Whatever you find easiest at the end of the day, just seems a big strip down for a small job. 🙄

Just to add the text book removal of the water heater is as follows –
Unscrew outside door, base panel, angle strip and side panels. Disengage the tension cords from the hinge levers. Unscrew the screws which connect the base pan to the hinge plates. Unscrew the rinsing tank from the rear panel of the base pan. Disconnect the door cable harness from the plug-and-socket connection in the base pan. Place the appliance on its back, carefully remove the base pan and loosen the catch between the level sensor housing and the water softening system. Disconnect the circulation pump with the rubber support from the base pan. Open the base pan until the instantaneous water heater can be screwed off the pump sump. Unscrew the instantaneous water heater. Release the catch on the pump sump and lever the instantaneous water heater off the plug-and-socket connections of the pump sump / circulation pump.
You better let BSH know there is any easier way 😈 and the inlet outlet ports are actually upper and lower basket feeds 😉

Ah that will be the instructions for a 45cm dishwasher I guess, but for a 60cm simply remove the tub! 😉

Greg, we certainly aint trained to do it that longwinded way 🙄
As I’ve said previously on this subject, I tend to just lift the right hand side up a bit if I’m in a rush.
If I’ve got time then I’ll take the tank off, it really isn’t that bad a job once you’ve done a few 😉

Done loads of these do the same as gegsy suggests but turn the dishwasher upside down remove the base all components are accessible 30-40 min job. EASY
