Its a Bosch, On the face of it difficult to access, but once you have done it a few times not that bad. Some people turn them upside down to effect repairs but that is not the official, or IMHO the best way. You have to remove the door panel, front plinth, top and sides, release the door hinges and cords and lift the door away, unscrew a few bits and bobs in the sump and salt chamber and lift the whole of the inner cabinet off, after removing the screws that hold it to the base. 🙂 The last one I had leaking turned out to be a split heater box, if that is the case with yours, buy the Bosch one it is much cheaper.

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply.I’m not sure where it’s leaking from but i could see it the water dripping from the sump somewhere. The customer was watching everything i was doing. I’ll have another look next week. thanks for your help.

This is one of those jobs on which it is easy to shift that type of customer, just spread all the bits about a bit and stand on their toes once or twice, they should get the message. 😉

Hi Jim, I’ve found that this machine is leaking from the sump seal. I’ve taken it apart but the seal looks ok. After cleaning the seal and putting it back together it still leaks. Any idea of the seal part number please?
Many Thanks.

I very much doubt that it’s the seal causing the leak to be honest, but there’s always a first time I suppose? I think it more likely there’s a pin hole or too in the stainless tub running down onto the seal and spilling onto the baseplate?

Thanks, Jim, Chris and Martin. From what i could see it looked as though the water was coming through between the seal and the sump? When i removed the tank the the white and green wires attached to the red float microswitch came off. there’s 3 terminals on the switch. I’m sure it was only the white one attached to the top terminal. Is that correct?
Thanks chaps.

Switch is normally open, so see which two are made with the switch closed – that’s where the wires go.

Hi Chris, me again. just dug out a parts diagram. I notice there is a clamp around the top of the seal inside the tank? there wasn’t one inside this machine.Should there be? (Part No 483056)
Thanks.AshbyOctober 1, 2006 at 5:00 pm #189477iadom

There are 2 clamps (triangular white plastic clamps with Torx 20 screw fixings) that hold the tub firmly onto the seal. 😉

I think he means the huge Jubilee clip round the seal that you see on the Bosch versions.
