Hotpoint FDW70P D/W SN 510181239

Need to replace the heater on this appliance.
But the clips on either end of the heater are un reusable and I
cant find a replacement hose type clip listed or suitable……
Jubilee seem so heavy duty and thick…..heater looks
very similar to whirlpool/Aeg does anyone know part numbers
for a clip that may work?

IIRC the heater is on the low pressure (suction) side of the pump in which case some sturdy cable ties should do the job 😉

Please please please do not use cable ties to secure the heater. The part number of the heater clips is 9900250 they are a good strong jubilee type clip

Is the heater on the output side of the pump?….if it isn’t then cable ties are perfectly satisfactory. If it is then i would agree a jubilee type clip would be required.

Ditto, it will blow the hoses off in a flash. The thin jubilee clips from Hotpoint are a rip off price but I have heard that thin jubilee clips of the exact size are available at local Vauxhall dealers at a fraction of the price.

I agree if on the high pressure side of the wash pump, but if it’s on the low pressure side then the hoses will have to withstand the maximum pressure of the head of water in them (6 inches at best)….and thats only when the pump isn’t running 😉

I have successfully used them in this way over many years….i have had one leak which was a faulty cable tie (could be pulled undone by hand because of a faulty barb)…which is more successful than using jubilee clips.

I hope the heater wiring wasnt burnt out as you you may also need a module and eeprom, had a couple now?

Cheers guys…..Im sure heater is suction side….but will feel happier with clips as flooring looks mighty expensive……good point johnnyj wiring
is burned…..I neglected to check module although customer described fault as blows fuses when it heats….so im assuming module ok as filling etc….but could now be wrong!!!! ill know in few days….LOL

The part number for the original clips is c00077010 dont know how much but easy as hell to fit with a pair of small blacksmiths pincers. £1 of the market. fitted jubillee’s in past and ended up paddling a few times but hey not my insurance 😆

This saga still going on…..more than a waited few weeks for replacement module after
checking with supplier whether card needed eprom like washer cards and told no…
customer getting very annoyed….doesnt seem to want to understand its not my fault they bought a Hotpoint or that there are no cards available…..anyway put card in and get the communication error fault
recheck with supplier and hey presto needs an eprom or program….special order again…hence few weeks….
anyway customer threw me out after I removed the module….dont blame him to be honest….so now seriously out of pocket……thanks supplier!!!!who I shall not mention…..does anyone need a card? how do I program fit eprom for future use?…….I have checked PCB and there are no spaces to fit eprom….

Hi, think this is the new type with module in the base?? if it is i think you have to have the eeprom to set the module, the eeprom is then removed before use,

Would plastic cable ties not be in danger of failure with the residual heat from the element? I always use the thin jubilee clips (9900250) they are dear but at least they’re right for the job, i’ve used ordinary jubilee clips in the past but they come off, they’re too wide & don’t sit on hose correctly.

I’ve fitted many over the years (too many to remember) and never had this problem. As I said before i’ve only had one fail to my knowledge and that was due to one tie itself being faulty…and that’s a better and more reliable success rate than i’ve had with jubilee clips 😉

Yes is the one with a board mounted in bottom of machine.

its not so urgent anymore as customer not interested as I mentioned but i’m a little lost now…..with the indesit w/m boards I would fit a preprogrammed eprom depending upon the model of wachine? is it not the case now then? could you just explain a little more detail please….

After following this thread, I too needed to fit one of these heaters. Sparing no expense I ordered 2x 9900250 clip v2.
I received, nicely packaged in Hotpoint polybags, two ordinary 60mm x12mm wide jubilee clips at £3.24each. I sent these back and used 2 x PLM70 hose clips off the van stock at 99p each. these seemed to do the job just fine, no real problems at all.
