i have a hotpoint dishwasher and the upper spray arm fixing nut seal keeps tearing where the basket is pulled in and out, what i am wondering is if there is a modified part i can use and this part only seems to last about 3 months

Press your cursor on the word cough and it will give you a link as to what is needed.Without the model n0 etc the guys will have no chance in trying to help you.

Apart from telling us that it is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit that does make all the difference. 😀

Is the part you are fitting a C00098769 spray arm gasket?

I haven’t had to fit many of those, can’t see how that seal can catch once it is secured. 😕
Or do you mean the seal at the back of the cabinet that the spray arm pushes onto?

What is the part number of the item you keep replacing?

Filling when not in use is either a faulty inlet solenoid valve or dodgy undersink plumbing.

Turn the water tap to the dishwasher off for a couple of days and see if that stops it filling when not in use.

its the nut at the back of the cabinet with a seal in it that the spray arm pushes onto when you push the basket in 😀

Very strange, I have only changed an odd one of these, can’t say they have any previous as a constant failure point myself.

Perhaps one or two of the Comet/Indesit lads might have an answer, no mods listed.

It might be worth changing the bit that slots over the nut & seal at the same time.

well i have just ordered part number C00054862 from this site so maybe the ones i have been getting elsewhere are just cheap paton parts 😀

whats the inlet solenoid like to change

Re: hotpoint spray arm fixing nut

According to my parts list the seal nut for an FDW80 is part number C00144315.

Solenoid valve is in the base, not that hard to change.

Three different valves used, would need full serial number from rating plate to identify.

Re: hotpoint spray arm fixing nut

where would i find the rating plate 😯

and thanks so much for all your help fella, i checked this site for the the part number you quoted for the seal and it did not exist so i googled it and it looks the same but for ariston.

maybe the quality of the rubber is different depending on the supplier
