ParticipantI have a Hotpoint WD440P which requires a new power module, partfinder lists C00254535 as being the replacment. I have tried Connect but it fails to say if this module is programmed or not. I have done a PNE and they sent the resolution back as requiring a hardware key ! That I and eady have but they cannot provide the smartcard partnumber and keep refering to the fact that the smartcard is for Hot & Cold Fill ?
The machine I have is cold fill only. I was under the impression that we could only now be supplied with blank PCBs with the Smartcard being ordered and configured via the hardware key. It seems that as far as connect are concerned no one has any logical answers.

no less than 4 smartcards for this machine
C00262287= cold fill
C00262299=h/c fill
C00263494= ceset motor
C00267859= new heater boxmine field as it may even need a wiring change dependant on the module fitted

So the next question is , how do we define what parts are required to effect this repair ?
I know that there are wiring loom replacements but surely Partfinder shold be the definitive resource so there are no problems sucj as this, they charge enough for it !!!!

I have a WD420 with a faulty board same part no C00254535
smartcard C00262287, been waiting for a month for card to arrive as Connect only stock one type 😥
Been back to fit it today only to find I need a wiring change 👿 info on this courtesy of Hotpoint spares who convenently forgot to inform me when I first got the part no’s off them. Top and bottom of it is that Connect haven’t a clue and are not willing to sort the minefield out with Merloni.In the confusion, Connect have supplied me with two other board types, and an eeprom 😕 although boards are smartcard type 😕
Total cost of this repair will be a massive negative to me 😥 four visits to customer, plus a few hours on the net and phone 😥March 23, 2009 at 8:30 pm #281066squadman

This seems like an almighty cock up, Connect have been heavily pushing the hardware keys and low end adaptors, Indesit bleating on about simplifying the whole process using inovative smartcard technology and here we are with no information, no support, and evidently no stock, what chance have we got !!!!

Participantsimply, if the board has a j10 connection, it needs a wiring change, if not, then its a straight swap
its easy to have a look, just tip it back

When fitting this module to a product produced before serial number 61101.0001 it will be necessary to convert the J10 connection
to J13 & J14 by fitting harness part codes C00142746 & C00142747. The module programme and function is not affected. 😀March 24, 2009 at 6:07 pm #281070Tony_EMW
