Dave,
First the bad news :I have searched everywhere for the darned part number? It’s one of those occasions where you know youv’e seen it somewhere but do you think where I can find it??
Now the good news : Qualtex do them under their part number KIT07 I think they come as a kit of 3 but you need 6 for each job so that’s a bit odd!
If I find the Hotpoint Part No meanwhile I will let you know. (Possibly another deleted part though as it is not listed any more as you probably have found out anyway?)

Would someone who deals with a Qualtex distributer see how quickly two sets can be obtained please.

Dave – dont bother using the Hotpoint spider bolts the things are a nightmare. Ive been using the ones fitted to the late Zanussi which have a 10 mm nut head. Saves on having to drill the originals out if you have to, they have something to hit to loosen them off, and they fit a treat. Bonz

These are for a customer bonz, he already bought the spider and bearing kit, and you know what customers are like 😉
But thanks for the tip, if we ever need to fit any ourselves I’ll use the Zanny one’s.

Yes, but he already knew what he wanted, so I guess he’s done his homework 1st.

Actually, yes!
I think that the advice offered by anyone on here to the public has been, in virtually every case, absolutely sound with almost nothing that could possibly cause an issue. I also think that a lot of the guys that have answered the public’s enquiries have shown that we’re not merciless dogs out to rip people off but are giving honest, genuine and relevant advice to people.
It would (and will) take years to make reparations for the damage caused over the years to this trade by the people that leave spur marks in the lino, but it’s a start. And a bloody good one.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep repeating it, the advice and opinions given to the public is excellent and it shows the world just how good we are at what we do.
As for losing business out it, well I used to worry about it the same as everyone else does but my old man once said that, “as soon as they walk through the door asking for a spare you’ve lost the job anyway and all you’ll get after that is hassles when they a**e it up”. Many years ago I decided he was indeed correct.

ParticipantI meant it – we are rather wonderful. We can give some advice to someone who lives in WS, while I live in LS – I can’t help him, it’s not local and it’s not costing me anything except a bit of time. Hopefully, a week maybe from now, we get a post saying “Thanks”, making US feel better.
We get perhaps one letter a year from a customer who doesn’t realise that I’m not an employee and we’ve got them all in a file, which I do, occasionally, pull out and skim through.
It’s not just the money, it’s the satisfaction as well.

Hi all
Did a wma bearing change last week.
I noticed the spider only had 3 bolts on it, 1 one each arm.
Has anyone else come across this and what are your thoughts on reliability because of it.
seemed solid enough but the bearings had failed, but nothing new there though.
Could this be why Qualtex sell kits of 3 ❓May 2, 2004 at 9:01 pm #111439Dave_Conway
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA Spider Bolts
I’ve noticed most of the WMA’s we’ve done have only one bolt per leg on the spider 😕
I guess GDA/Merloni have done the “stress” tests though.
I haven’t seen any yet where the bolts have loosened or sheared off, but then the bearings are failing before they have a chance to 😆
