I’m told all Service partners who are doing their work are on the same rates. Therefore, we as service partners are being put into a situation where we are uncompetitive on chargeable work with non service partners. WHY is there just so much difference!

Anyone noticed that you can buy a dyson from sainsbury’s including VAT cheaper than connect are selling them plus VAT.

bryanYou have to mention the prices bryan because as you`ve just read others may get a Dyson cheaper than prices quoted to you.
We`ve been here several times before. Connect seem to give you good prices on parts you are buying regularly from them and hike the price on parts you don`t buy regularly.
This seems an unbelievably stupid system because you will not buy parts from them when you can get them cheaper elsewhere and the supposedly clever syatem falls flat on its face. 🙄Think I said before that some smart I.T. person must have come up with that system as I`m sure they track what you are buying from them.

Wake up, you lot – two bits of carbon with a bit of copper wire embedded don’t cost 50p/pr to make. They were probably made as a batch of 100,000 last September to see us all safely through this year, at a great saving compared with the gens in holders.
Accept that the manufacturers sell these en bloc to an Italian agent, who sells them to various UK Distributors and even with two lots of mark up that’s at most £1.50/pr. So Connect either want to steer the market somewhere else, which would be shortsighted and foolish given the plethora of other wholesalers, or they wish to extract the michael from those who have no choice but to buy from them, or it’s just blatant profiteering. Of course in these enlightened times that just doesn’t happen anymore. Well, not much any way. Comet Spares don’t sell brushes, only motors, so at least we’re not plumbing those depths yet.
Anyway, take another example – Martin‘s favourite Bosch brushes. You can pay £27 odd for the gens, or buy the “not quite perfect” pattern ones from (in my case) Maddocks for £3.25/pr. These are slightly more sophisticated in that they have springs and tags as well, yet are still cheap by comparison.
I suspect that we’re being unstuck from our cash in a mannner akin to the parting of velcro.
Which bit of “Rip-off” is puzzling everybody?

It appears that contrary to popular belief over the issue of “who spends most, gets the better trading discount” …that it is very much NOT the case after all.
Rather I suspect then that once they have got you by the proverbials, they squeeze them even more to see if you scream! And as far as they are concerned if they get no reaction from you, then they will continue their grip. Or to put it another way, a large share in your continued success is their ultimate triumph. What a brilliant marketing coup!!
I would be gutted to realise for someone that is spending that amount of money with them each month, has to pay the same price as someone who purchases a fraction of that in the same period?
Surely with all the recent mouning and groaning over demands for increase workrates from WP’s from those that need the best rates to support the biggest workforce, should be the first to start shouting “RIP OFF!”
Do the Connect Reps drive big cars I wonder? I bet they do, but I wouldn’t know as I’ve never seen one? as I just get someone from their company phone me every week asking if everything is alright? (in spite of the fact I haven’t ordered spares from them this last 12 months!!!
Time to organise some strategy to redress the balance towards the ones that does the grafting in this business 👿

Well can I just say that I think Connect are a great company and the Rep I have is the best ever in the whole universe and I think you should all stop picking on them.

You are most welcome to do so Mr Goatboy. Why not ask K Watt how to post a table while you are at it so as it may be rather more readable. I tried but could never manage to post ordered columns.
The short answer is that you can’t post a table unless it is supported by the BB code (not the Boys Brigade before some smart Alec suggests it ;)). However HTML is enabled to a degree, although I have found that some code just doesn’t work, so an HTML tagged table may work. 😕
Or, if you want to be real cute and keep it simple, do a screenshot of the table, get it less than 600 pixels wide, and post it as an image.
Or, if you really want simple, send it to me and I’ll deal with it. 😉
