Re: In search of the fourth cord

Too late Martin has just replied, troll feeding a troll by looks of it.

    BTW what is TED?

So, who allowed Martin to read the ‘Martin Conundrum’ thread then? 😕

I don’t know although the list is short of those that could have passed in on in any form.

TBH, I couldn’t much care either.

And, for the record, I haven’t been reading Martin’s posts beyond a cursory glance to ensure he’s behaving for some time now. Beyond that I’ve little interest in much of what Martin says, he has spent years accomplishing that.

Re: In search of the fourth cord

I suppose I could and, perhaps should, craft a suitable reply.

However I have neither the time or the inclination to do so. TBH, I have better things to be doing with my time, like getting the renovations to the house done, the first wave of which I’m in the middle of. I have been promising Tracey much of this for almost a decade, I kinda think I owe a little there given the latitude she affords me with UKW and all else. I have a few things to be writing, not frivolous posts answering Martin. And, in any event, feeding his ego and making him think that he is in any way important or required for life to continue is not only disingenuous but also potentially harmful given his past behaviour.

I’ve given this a bit of thought the past couple of days, among wondering how to arrange kitchen cabinets for the most efficient cooking environment which, I will admit, has taken precedence of late. The conclusion I have arrived at is, albeit briefly, well outlined in the previous paragraph.

In short, cleaning my ears with a cotton bud is more important that pandering to Martin. That’s not to say that I don’t pay attention or I think I’m any better than anyone, I just can’t be ar$ed with him and his crap.

I do however find his recent post on the “meggers” thread most interesting and revealing. I have analysed it at length, mostly with the intent to reply but, although I’m not going to do that, it has given some insight.

For a start it was the wrong place to air a grievance in the way that he has. He’s been very subtle on some levels, he’s quite obviously been awaiting the (what he perceives IMO) to be the perfect time to air these matters and it’s quite clear that the stuff that has obviously irked him go back a ways. Give him his due, he’s been patient on that front and has been quite clever in the wording, which is the part that bothers me I suppose.

All of which raises my hackles somewhat and has put me very much on guard when it comes to Martin, not that I wasn’t already. Seen his type (and most others) online before.

On balance I’ve chosen not to enter into a debate and to simply ignore him, his comments and his attempt to open some sort of dialogue which, I’m quite sure, would not be pretty or constructive in any way.

In other words, I think, I’ve chosen the higher ground and I’ll leave it like that unless the situation warrants any more than that in my own personal opinion since it is directed squarely at me personally. Something I do ask everyone tries to avoid, but… it’s Martin.

Re: In search of the fourth cord

I suppose that, to be strictly fair, he may feel that he has achieved some degree of redemption with the Megger Affair. He has produced a simple, clear document covering the bases pretty well and members want and like it. Fair play to him.

Obviously, none of us know how his period as a mod ended, but I do recall that it wasn’t long after the business with the nordic troll. Takes a lot to get me mad, but he did it…

Anyway, it’s probably sheer paranoia about what’s in the Conundrum thread, really.

    I hope.

Re: In search of the fourth cord

I may soon be joining you K, lots of things around the house are long overdue for my attention. I might have to leave the new doors and windows to the experts but I am penciled in for laying over 30 sq metres of wood flooring in the new year. 😥

Any tips greatly appreciated, my poor knees are quaking at the very thought of it. :rolls:

As for Martin, aloof indifference gets my vote. 8)

Who knows? I just thought it mildly interesting. It wasn’t all that long ago we were watching 1 million clock over and getting quite excited about it.
