Moderatoron most dishwashers if the unit leaks into the base where the motors are, there is a float which stops the programme and starts the pump which wont stop till the water is removed
you need to get into the base and if there is water there mop it out and try it again. if it repeats this then you would need to find the leak thats causing it

ParticipantThanks I will try. Btw It’s my mum’s machine the filter was full of food the fine filter was full of grease and the drain hole had pieces of plastic wrapping in it! Could that have caused leaking?

Moderatorthe bars are the rotating bars that do the cleaning. these have holes in them where the water is jetted onto the plates
make sure the holes are clear

ParticipantWill do. Won’t be opening up machine til next Sat is easy to access motors? I never thought blocked cleaning bars would cause a continuing drain cycle. I’ll let you know how I get on next Sat thanks for your help have a good weekend. Stuart

ParticipantI cleaned out bars they were not too bad. However I did not know how to access sump area is it via the side panel? I also noticed when it’s on a mid cycle drain pause if I open the door this continues. If I remove filters as this is happening water is jetting into the drain hole is this normal? Thx

Moderatorits the word jetting that confusing me. there may be a bit of water return but al long as the water goes till the pump draws air then its fine. when the pump stop i expect around 2 inches of water in the sump

ParticipantWater just over the bottom of the filter. I took a panel off no water in base the clear plastics had some water in them. The only program that runs correctly is the prewash. stuart
