Could also be the Hall effect(?) sensor which is attached to the stator. It’s a quarter of the price of the motor so worth trying if you’re self employed.

I’m with Helo on this – had exactly that fault before. Drum turns smoothly by hand, load the drum and the coil gives a loud “electromagnetic” type hum like a large transformer. The drum will judder and sometimes turn a bit. Hum gets louder before the PCB cuts it off. Then it’ll try again.
If this description is correct then it’s the stator. The stall sensor IIRC, cuts the motor if the drum jams; whereas on a belt drive machine, it would throw the belt. 😉
Hope that helps,
Steve.

Got the same problem here, WM 14225.
Machine man how can you have “loads” at around £110 at Connect. I’m jealous. What did you charge the customer?
Is it an easy fix?

£90.91 + VAT @ Connect for me.
Try Qualtex for the stator; couldn’t find it on their site though…….
Easy job – rotor (pulley) bolt off, pull the rotor off against the magnetic force. Then unplug the loom at the stall sensor and undo the 6 bolts that hold the stator to the back of the tub.
Reassembly is a reversal of removal: just watch out when you put the rotor back on – the strong magnets can trap you finger.Hope that helps,
Steve.

Hi,
Sorry to drag this up but got a the same fault. Is there any point trying to replace just the hall sensor first, or is it best to go for the stator?

i thought these “motors” had a 10 year warranty? is that parts and labour or just parts?
