ParticipantHi, I have this fridge freezer and we have had it for close to 3 years but already for a while have noticed excessive ice and frost build up on the inside back wall of the fridge. We have had miele out quite a few times on this issue, they replaced first the temperature sensors and then compressor electronic but they have repeatedly told us it’s normal which is a shock and surprise to me. Wondering if anyone on here has this too on their fridge freezer and can share with me photos?
It’s a very expensive machine and just want some reassurance and advice on this matter from those who know or have had their own experience in it. Please let me know. Thank youSeptember 4, 2022 at 8:45 am #483485electrofix
Moderatorinteresting contradiction here
Miele say its normal and yet they have gone to the expense of changeing some very expensive parts
Also did you realise miele dont manufacture these units as they are made for them by Liebherr

Well one engineer obviously thought it was the temperature sensors that’s why he replaced them and then when we got back from our holidays the whole machine wasn’t working at all so another engineer came out to replace the compressor electronic. Have you heard of or seen this before? In regards to it being made by Liebherr yes it was a huge disappointment and made a complaint about that right after I bought it.

ParticipantIt’s a frost-free fridge-freezer so how can they say it’s normal to get frost build-up in the fridge, which I assume works by having cold air blown into it from the freezer?
As Dave has said above, why would they change parts if it’s working normally (which I don’t think it is)? Sounds to me like they were just stalling for time until the warranty expires.September 4, 2022 at 9:52 am #483488b4u2
ParticipantThey explained to us that it freezes up then defrosts then freezers then defrost and that’s how it works.

ParticipantDave, is this a cold rear wall type fridge rather than a blown air type? If so I assume it has a valve so it can regulate the fridge separately from the freezer?

what do you mean?some fridges cool the rear wall and some frost free units take cold air out of the freezer to cool the fridge and control the flow with a motorised flap

Mine cools the rear wall based on what the miele engineers have told me.November 1, 2025 at 9:31 pm #483498b4u2
ParticipantI have now made a court claim online because miele senior technician couldn’t fix the fault
