Blimey I find that hard to understand. 😕
I have no idea of your skill-sets nor wish to pry, but I would have thought plumbing skills a goldmine? Whatever, but I’m sure you’ll find trade will pick up sooner rather than later….all the best! 😀

I think it`s very much a regional thing Martin, we are probably quite lucky down here as a lot of our business is with retired folk and people who have previously sold high in the home counties and bought cheaper down here. Coupled with the fact the Met office has had an impact as well. Add to that Devon will be the first county to switchover to digital TV starting late April. Needless to say we are busy on all fronts and we expect TV to go absolutely crazy with all the double retuning of digital equipment we will no doubt have to do.

Strange, my work hasn’t picked up since we had the snow. Got so bad that this week ive been fitting bathrooms with my brother. Typical though, as soon as im tied up doing that i start getting loads of calls for jobs that need doing yesterday.

this is the first time in a long while that I’ve come in to work with no jobs booked. its been very average since christmas with the last high peak last November. it seem every other customer is out of work or soon will be and those with any money are hanging on to it. I quote normal prices and customers say “I’ll let you know”
we’re in for a rough time me thinks

Works gone dead here, two calls last week and one so far this week, is it just me? or are we all very quiet.

Dont get the easy jobs any more, mostly built in dishwashers and high end refrigeration.
15 jobs in a good week but all paying top dollar so not too bad.
Things certainly aint what they used to be 🙁On the bright side though there will be a good show of flowers and veg this year with all the work being done in the garden 🙂

Yep, me too busy in the garden to fill up my time with the missus the proverbial taskmaster.:rolls:
I’m averaging just 2 calls a day at the moment which equates to a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} drop in demand. Do get some good calls out of what’s about though. But when you get a recall on a Bosch half-moon element (genuine) I fitted only last week that’s blown up already, I don’t need hastle mixed in with what little I do get. 👿

It’s strange, we wasn’t too bad last week, but this week is looking dreadful.

Yep ! Up until three weeks ago we were ticking over nicely, last week decent week, this week has taken a nose dive with only 5 calls so far.
Its gone very quiet and even the telephone enquires are far and few between, even Yellow Pages are not ringing us !!! 😕March 24, 2009 at 7:19 pm #266516admin

3 jobs yesterday, literally nothing in today 😯 Looks like the dog is gonna get an excellent long walk tomorrow to pass the day.
Notice there has been a definite hike in retail prices on whites from all the major players since the jan sales ended & i had hoped this would lead to a pickup in repair rates ❓
Oh well, no point worrying, nothing much we can do. :rolls: -
