I’m not a great believer in stereotyping (although I’m aware I’ve already been guilty of it twice in this thread ).
So please take it with a pinch of salt if I say, social worker.

I almost got lucky once when I pulled out a guys fridge freezer and underneath was a lot of £20 notes, the guy was next to me and said he forgot that was there then asked me to leave the kitchen for a minute.
Guess I’m not the only dishonest one in the world, but at least I’d have passed on the wealth to a good cause, similar to HMG does when they bust drug dealers and then sell the goods at auction.
Sometimes people on high horses don’t always think so well. 😉

A guy rang me last night wanting to know how much to place a belt he bought onto his Hotpoint T/D.
I told him £45.00
He informed me I’m robbing him and having a laugh.
I guess it is down to interpretation and lets not forget that many new and old rich are in that position thanks to there interpretation of right and wrong, Lord Carnarvon’s family included.

I got a thankyou letter in the post this morning from Lord Canarvon thanking me for sorting the machine out and my honesty in handing over the diamond. It was the genuine article that apparently had come off a ring belonging to a friend.
Some days earlier they had guests round for a days ‘pheasant shooting’. One guest realised she was wearing the ring and in order to put gloves on, took the ring off and handed it to him for safe keeping. He placed it into his waistcoat pocket and promptly forgot it was there. Then washed the wastecoat.
The gold ring has since disappeared in the washing machine somewhere I guess as that too was lost, so maybe I’ll get a recall sometime soon?
I’m assured meanwhile the diamond is to be returned to its rightful owner and he has passed on my contact details to her anyway lest she should wish to get in touch. (Hmmmm….wonder who that could be…??)
