ParticipantHi there, I am a newby, and have to tell you that this site is great. Can’t believe the help you can get from generous people like yourselves!
My question is, I have just had a guy round to give me a quote for a new kitchen. He quoted for Necht appliances, of which I have never heard of before. Can anyone tell me what these appliances are like – he told me that they are in the top two of German appliance companies. Is he filling me full of sales patter? He has quoted for fridge, freezer and dishwasher – all intergrated. Any feedback out there?

Necht are the brand name of Maple Industries. If you use the forum search you can find out quite a bit about both the names 😉
Essentially it’s rebadged appliances from various sources depending on the model number/appliance type.

Hi Bev,
Necht are re-branded budget appliances fro Maple Industries who manufacture kitchen units. They aregenerally not German made, in fact I don’t know of any of their products that are made in Germany.
The dishwashers that you see on here a fair bit are Chinese and, err, not the best will we say. 🙄

Hi, and thank you both for your replies.
Dave, have tried to do a search on the forum as suggested, but not being very pc literate I was not sure if I was doing it correctly. Tried to search by clicking on the “search” heading under the navigation column on right, but drew a blank on both Necht and Maple Industries. Am I doing something wrong?

KeymasterHi Bev,
If you scroll back up to the top of the page, just above the announcement box in the top centre you’ll see a little text list, press “search” there, the second from the left. 😉

Thanks Iadom, it made VERY interesting reading! What is that old saying – “You get what you pay for?” Vance Miller is now trading as “Kitchens” which is where I have got the name Necht from. I don’t think I will take them up on their quote.
Many thanks to everyone for your responses.

in all fairness, the cupboard doors used by this firm are of excellent quality.
if you could design your own kitchen, buy cupboard carcasses from somewhere like b&q, source your own appliances (shouldn’t be too hard on here 😉 ) and then use their doors, you shouldn’t go far wrong.do they operate a cash and carry policy? if so that could be the answer.
cheers.

Only because most kitchen companies have to buy their doors in from other manufatcurers!! so if buying the carcass from b&q get the doors as well! sigh.

spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should be able to track you one down. They will need to know which element you require and the model number of your appliance.

ive had a kitchen, 3 actually for various projects that house Necht appliances and also have had a complete kitchen too.
for a budget kitchen it was a bargain and the quality was okay. the appliances still work 12 months later. i agree that the doors are of an outstanding quality, certainly a damn sight cheaper than the bigger stores.
i thought the handles were very good too, but i tend to buy replacements bits from B&Q.
i also read those links about the owner and in all fairness they were written some time ago, and i also doubt that the company is a one man operation, i’d be mightily impressed if it was 😉

The most recent report on this company was on Watchdog only two weeks ago. Hundreds of unresolved complaints. I live locally and the local press are always reporting problems with Mr Miller. On the last Watchdog programme, Vance Miller even agreed that he should be sent back to prison. 😥
Some more up to date reading for you. http://tinyurl.com/yayyns

Hello.
First of all we would like to appologise to all our customers for this disruption. Contrary to what Trading Standards have to say, we would like to inform all our customers that if you do have any outstanding issues then you can contact me by fax directly on 01706 821 991 and we assure you that your outstanding issues will be resolved.
We have urged the Trading standards to open communications with us, and lets work together to resolve this problem, but they never have and still will not open communications with us.
if you are a competitor, then its easy kicking us whilst we are trying our best to resolve these issues, we have been improving month on month and have brought our complaints down a significant amount over the last year. the Oldham tradings standards have continously refused to work with us in resolving the complaints they have recieved, yet we have always offered to work with them. We still urge them, if they are as fair as they claim to be then open a line of communication with us, lets resolve these complaints like we have always requested.
Kind Regards
Vance Miller
