ParticipantCan some one help me. My dishwasher is taking in no water. I have looked at it and it appears to be the Bitron 902 valve that is acting up. I was wondering could someone confirm this so I can go and buy a new part.
Any help would be great.
Regs,
M.

There will be no one who could confirm this on a forum i wouldnt of thought …
We do try to help in stearing the public in the right direction but to ask someone to confirm it i guess maybe this is why u have not had a quick answer.. if we all could confirm a fault 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on a forum i think we would be inclined to make money from doing so without having to leave the house.
You may want to be a little more specific in what happened..when it happened..things like that so we could “guide” you a little better?

Many thanks for your reply. LJ. Basically when I turn the machine on to start, there is no water going into the machine. I removed the valve and I checked pipe that the machine takes in water from and that is fine. So I can only guess that it is a problem with the valve itself? The valve is run by electricity as far as I can see as there are electric cables running up to through the piping to the valve. What do you think.

He he! I dunno, I presume I’d have to pull out my multimeter and check that one as not all solenoid coils are the same 😕

You can say that again. 😉 Checking those valves with a multimeter is a true test of determination over the forces of adversity. Access to the point where measurement can be taken in the first place will keep you pleasantly occupied for many a while. 🙁
Good luck pal!

So should should I check the resistance before I go ordering any parts Martin or is this a job for the pros?
I am feeling more inadequate in the self diagnosis of the problem as this thread goes on. 🙁

You are right to assume that the valve is at fault, and they do fail so that diagnosis is not beyond the bounds of reason. However, there could be other issues causing the same symptoms including pressure switch, blocked hoses and indeed faulty programmer.
I would always advise contacting a local engineer such as myself who would call, assess the problem and deal with it accordingly subject to your approval. Simply sticking a new valve unit in may well solve your problem but it also may not? It’s a gamble at this stage and no mistake. 😉

Many thanks for the your replies Martin, you could come round and repair it no probs but the thing is I am in Southern Ireland where we get bent over on anything like this and I am sick to the teeth of the rip off culture over here especially with the way things are now. That is the main reason I said I’d give it a go. I’m handy at fixing most thing so that is the reason I am here now.
I even rang Neff about the part you posted earlier and it was more expensive than it is in the UK – typical!
Anywho, enough of the rant 😀
I figured it may be more than just the valve alright. It is making a kind of gurgling noise when turned on and no water is getting into the unit. I might open her up and take a look but the folks want their washer working and they may just have to fork out.

I had a chap I know take a look at this, he says it is the timer that is gone and that it might be better off getting a new dishwasher?! 😮
Anyone have any experience with this?

I didn’t see exactly what he did as I was not present at the time he looked at it. He just told me that the timer needs to be changed and it would be a big job.
He usually services Philips products.

could well be but may be worth another look if he is not used to these m/c he may be missing something .it is usually some other comonent that is failing.
when you knock m/c on does it pump out first.
check all filters /hoses to sump
what end of country are you in? -
