I have a creda tumble dryer. I have replaced the element and all 3 thermostats. The new thermostats failed after 2 weeks. I replaced them again and this time they lasted 5 weeks. What could be causing them to fail? Would i be better buying a new dryer?

Is it a vented or a condenser dryer?
Guessing its a condenser dryer and you have an air flow problem ie blocked door filter, blocked condenser box, also don`t overload dryer and never stop it during the cycle unless you turn the dial to the last ten minutes and allow to run cool first.
If it is vented check the hose is not kinked and the vent grill is clear.

Is she stopping it mid cycle to empty container? Not a good idea if this is the case.

She never stops it mid-cycle,and always empties fluff from filter. The machine is around 8 years old now maybe time for a new one.

A full model number would help. 😉

Check that the Condenser Unit is not blocked with fluff, you should find it situated at front bottom left of machine,it just slots in so you should be able to pull it out.
Also when you have the unit out check that there is no fluff build up at the rear of where this unit slots in.

    Re: no heat again

As has already been stated airflow obstructions are the main cause of this fault other than stopping the machine mid cycle before it has gone through the cool down period.

The aforementioned condensor should be cleaned at least once a week if the machine is in constant use. Flushing it through with a hose pipe is the best way if you have that option available.

Wouldn’t cause the stats to fail though. 😉

Are you sure you had the correct stat kit for the model :con:

I have replaced them with the correct green spot stats for this model, the connections are good and tight and i haven’t replaced the motor capacitor. I had to replace the heater element and all 3 stats. The 1 inside the door which i think was ok anyway and the green spot stats at the rear of the machine.I have made sure the air flow is ok and that the condenser unit is clear and clean.

    Re: no heat again

The capacitor can fail, especially under load, not expensive and worth a punt as it does lead to stat failures.
