My work as doubled in the last week, i have an ans machine but realised i was missing loads of calls to my landline, last friday o contacted my network, i now divert my calls to my mobile during the day, a couple of days i forgot to divert the calls and and it showed up the calls were down, for £2 a month it was well worth it.

My landline is on permanent divert and I don’t let it go to answering service as they just go to the next advert in the YP if no reply.
Downside is I get to speak to all the clowns trying to sell me stuff I didn’t know I needed.
They get a very short response from me as I am picking up the tab for the call 😈Steve

My problem lately is trying to build up spares orders big enough to get free delivery. Homespares used to do free delivery on internet orders over £50 but it seems they must have raised the threshold. I searched the website carefully but can’t find any mention of this. I actually only needed a Zanussi interlock this week but did a bit of re-stocking, carbons, bearings etc to get the order over £50. I went to the checkout page and it was still adding delivery charge of £5.95. I went back and altered quantities to increase the order to over £75 but the delivery charge still came up when I went to checkout, so I reduced the order back to £50+. This means I make £5.95 (+VAT) less profit on the interlock. 🙁

Connect will do small orders at £3.50 first class post but you can’t get this over the internet, you have to ring it in on the sales number and make sure you specify it because not all operatives are even aware of the policy.

Not really, if that order included 10 items then it works out at only 68 pence extra per item to cover the postage.

I don’t worry so much about the P+P, If it’s 1 order of £9.95 +5.95 P+P then i will charge the customer a round figure of £16 for the part + £30 labour.
If it’s a straight spare sale then its rrp.
