Update 😀
Li gave me some pointers today and I think Trevor has dome something at the server end as well.
I’ve been out this afternoon and I’m off home now, back around 9pm, I don’t see any indication of any new one’s this afternoon.
So, has anyone deleted any today after 1pm or let me know if any appear before I get back on later please.
Cheers.
Dave.

I think we managed to stop them in the end…
I’ve just been watching a load of the Mexican and Colombian ip’s that were always about when the spam started and nowt 😀
But they are still hanging around 🙄

KeymasterI’ve asked trevor & Li if there’s a way that we can ban th eURLs that they’re using. Dirty tricks are not a one-sided affair.

ParticipantRe: Nonsense
they were out in force last night, deleted 19 this morning over the first coffee.
Something just struck me though, It seems to be on different posts that they stick this crap all the time except for one post that seems to have some new spam every day
“Bish-Bosch dodgy wash! SGS 43A12 GB/27 Exxcel problem”
So I take it we can assume that it is a pissed off Bosch customer that is posting the spam 😆

KeymasterNo, they’re picking on older threads as they may go unnoticed on some sites that are not as well monitored as UKW is. Plus we have that scrolling box to keep us well up to speed. 😉

That’s it!
I’ve fookin’ had it with these twats.
All public forums should now be restricted to registered users only being allowed to post and if any account posts spam, ban it. If you can’t, tell me and I will ban and remove the account as well as doing a bit more.
B******DS!!

Exactly what I said 2 months ago!!!!!
At the end of the day if a member of public wants to post about a problem with their machine they can at least register, they get the rest for free. If you go ahead and do this it would IMO kill 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the spam in one go.
It won’t stop the guests from reading the public forums so the hits will still keep coming.
