What is his problem? 😕 I think he should get a beer and chill. His stress levels must be through the roof.
We are all pissed off with the speed that UKW runs at, at the moment but we accept its not permanent and changes are afoot.
Its the rudeness and as Chris said the arrogance shown in his posts.
You could always refund his UKW subs and tell him to go forth 😈Greg

I try. Then I try people’s patience. :snigger:
I’m used to people like that, lots of experience with them on t’internet. 😉
It’s “A-Typical” newsgroup behaviour TBH, there’s always a better way and some smart ass always knows what it is, where everyone else does not. Usually this involves a plan that doesn’t have all the information factored into it, merely what they want to see and what they think is, all too often, the most obvious solution with the information that they have to hand. It’s fine and it’s easily dealt with through logical reasoning, just that in this case I have neither the will nor the patience to be arsed with it.
I’ve not started the living room yet, got the hall done though. 🙁
And Dulux, lying bar stewards! Once my arse! Another triumph of marketing over common sense.

I think it is about time that the ukthesis nonsense thread was locked. I may be wrong but seeing just how far he can go take us all along suggests he is doing it for a ‘thesis’, perhaps just to satisfy some strange needs or perhaps he could be ‘the engineer’ back for another trolling session.

Martin,
Gonna give it up?
Not everyone is going to click to get repairs@, end of story. And the repetative, “click for a repairer” is tedious at best as there’s a feckin’ link at the end of EVERY SINGLE PUBLIC POST telling people to do just that. If it were me reading it I’d think I was being treated as a fool. It is very condecending.
Not only that on the intro page, info page, a sh1tload of articles and on the homepage there’s banners declaring “Click here for an engineer”. I think it’s overdone as it is.
And, there’s just shy of 900 call requests this month to repairs@, the bulk of which have been a success (for a change) and this may be the first month that we have a chance to crack the magic 1000 in a single month.
We’ve had over 42,500 visitors this month and, in all honesty, that sort of conversion rate is just great. Of course I’d like better as would we all, but treating people like children, including us, is not the way to accomplish that.

KeymasterRe: On reflection,
To let you understand Martin, I read a lot, too much probably as well as listen to a lot on the internet and other media sources and I’m trying the best I can to explain stuff I take for granted in a nutshell. This is pretty good as a list of things not to do on the internet, it explains what people think or at least how they think when they come across restrictive information:
Aaron Wall wrote:Bad advice is frequently given out as though it is good advice because people talk in terms of ideals because…
• they want to justify the time they spent learning what they know
• they want to justify the career path they chose (which may become a large part of their identity)
• they buy into white lies that put themselves or others at the top of social networks
• they get paid more if only a few people can do what they teach (supply vs demand, etc.)professionals want to make their profession seem more complex than it is…
• to lock new competitors out of their market
• to feel proud of themselves for the hard work they do and all they know
• to justify the fees they charge
• they get paid more if only a few people can do what they teach (supply vs demand, etc.)many people with authority only consider their worldview…
• because they are insecure or it is all they know
• or they realize that if they (or the market) were less idealistic they might lose their authority / income / market position
• they get paid more if only a few people can do what they teach (supply vs demand, etc.)An internet marketer.
The point is that when you restrict information, even in the way that we do, it can be looked upon as us being greedy and just trying to protect our own. We get around that by using a negotiation tactic known as “deffer to a higher power” by using the law and the manufacturers as the higher power to which we deffer.
I always intended it to be that way and the line I’ve always followed.
The same thing has happened in other areas and, in this as many other industries (real estate agents are a classic example), the knowledge that is held by the “professionals” is being opened up by the internet. This is good for the people, bad for the professionals in some ways.
That is, unless you embrace it, appear open and try to take advantage of the changes to the marketplace.
Which is exactly what we’re doing.

Fortunately, there is a real world out there, who don’t surf 24/7. Who still like to have human interaction. Personally, the content of the above post is ruhbarb, cause I don’t live the internet, when I post its about common sense, not a higher power.
Whilst I admit theres no stopping the youngsters of today as far as IT goes, I’m pleased to embrace a little and not get to political about the nerds who deem a right and a wrong, because they can, and then impose it as internet rules.
