    Hi Wayne,

In your post you did not say if the prices shown to non account customers on the Parts Center site are an error or are there to stay.

If an error when will it be corrected?

The argument that customers will not find it doesn’t ring true, the supposed reason given for the highly inflated retail prices originally displayed on the site was to dissuade retail customers from buying therefore Parts Centre ‘must’ have anticipated the retail customer finding the site.

Can Parts Center just put a realistic suggested retail price on the system in a similar way to the old Washvac website?

Also in the “super Savers’ brochure, is it 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off online orders as in the 2” high print or the 2.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as stated in the small print?

Also Wayne……..thanks for sticking your head above the parapet, it’s nice to get some answers!

    Keith.

You could argue the case that the credit card facility is there to allow trade customers who don’t have an account to buy spares at a reasonable price I suppose, but in my opinion, that facility should be protected by a user name and password even if you don’t have an account you should prove trade status.

Oh, and type “parts centre” (spelt the English way) in to Google restricted to UK sites only and see what pops up as result 4 😉

    Re: Partscenter Friend or Foe??????

I have made the call this morning to make management aware of the concerns that our customers have about the special offer prices. We are aware of how peolpe feel and we are trying to right the wrongs and make it better for you all. This is the reason I signed up to this website, so that I can feed the information back to management and hopefully make us a better and stronger supplier. We all know how we have managed to upset the magority of you our customers, (You should be at one of our meetings and see how heated they get, with all the reps saying pretty much the same thing) I would love to tell you all everything that we are up to behind the scenes, but I dont want to tell you all that it is happening only for there to be a delay. We said we were getting the supersavers back, and we ahve we have said the new catalogue will be out by THIS Christmas and it will, and as of when I know changes are happening or happened I will shoput it from the rooftops ( or on this website anyway). I have a lot of my own accounts on this site and ask them if I have been busy sorting their issues out, and in most cases have done all of them. We still have a long way to go, but I can assure you we are still working on it to make it better. And as for selling to the public I am lead to beleive that most of you are aware that my major competition have a PUBLIC website and yet you are happy about this!!!? As they are set up for the public and aim at the public!! I am always glad to hear feed back good or bad, and yes I DO LISTEN, and where I can act upon it. I wil do my best to answer your questions or help if I can. And besides if the senoir management say NO I will take one of my rifles from Cadets and aim……………BANG…! I will still be standing!!

I do most of my business with Connect rather than Parts Centre because I get a better deal re minimum order for free delivery. If I ordered/collected spares at a Parts Centre branch rather than online, could I avoid paying delivery charges?

Is it me, or are you answering the question by not answering the question?

If it is, do we assume that Part Center are happy to sell to anyone at trade prices?

    Re: Partscenter Friend or Foe??????

There is no minimum order through branches, yes one item can be ordered. the only thing is the guys on the counter will have no knowledge of our spares. And Keith we did not expect the special offers to appear like that on the web. we are looking into how to sort it.

It appears Parts Center have gone to ground somewhat, their website has not been up-dated lately, since the departure of many at Sittingbourne perhaps?

Their parts catalogue has not materialised either :con:

Yep, it’s all very quiet from the Partscenter camp.

I had a conversation yesterday with a Climatecenter employee and in his area they should have been using that depot as a Partscenter stockist as well, to date – no stock ! 😕

Haven’t you noticed…………..the Parts Center website has now started to auto save the orders.

There is also a change that allows you to put a job reference on a part when you place it in basket.

So it looks like there are some improvements.

    Good News !!!!!!!!!!!

Having seen My partscenter Rep yesterday an update on the situation.

Catologue relaese date is the 9th January 2005 !!!!!!

More changes to appear on website very shortly, imminent.
I understand this is on going progress.

Now the auto save function is turned on. If you log out you can’t see what’s in the basket until you add something new to the basket. Better than it vanashing.

Ordering again & parts are arriving next day.

    It is an improvement.

    Regards
    Paul.

I know we started this thread but things are changing for the better.

    Re: Partscenter Friend or Foe??????

    Dear Washvac Wayne,

I gave up ordering spares from Wash Vac last September after 32 years trading with them as my main genuine parts wholesaler 🙁

Since that time I have had no contact from them either by mail or any rep contact whatsover. The last contact I recall was having spoken to someone at Parts Center head office, they were going to find out who my rep was, so he could call me to arrange a visit? :con:

    That was 3 months ago……!! 🙄

Yesterday I found a small jiffy bag that supposedly contained a back-ordered Whirlpool Dryer Element, on opening this very small package I discovered it contained a vacuum cleaner belt of some kind with the same catalogue number (that should have been a Whirlpool element??)

I then tried ringing Wash Vac in Sittingbourne and after 14 minutes of being told “your call is important to us!” (or some such tripe) I hung up and phoned head office to give them an ear-bashing. The nice lady there promised to contact Wash Vac for me and get them to ring me back.

Blow me but less than 5 mins later a lady from Sittingbourne rang to enquire what problem I had. I explained I have been sent a belt instead of an element, that I didn’t want either and simply wanted to return the part and have my account credited in full. The returns slip enclosed with the part required an “authorisation number” from Washvac before the part could be returned. The lady at Washvac had never heard of this procedure and enlisted the help of a ‘call center’ staff, who also didn’t have a clue as to what I needed in order to return the part???

So I just stuck a 1st class stamp on it and posted back to Ripon (where it came from)………..and they can stick it where the sun don’t shine as far as I care 👿

    Yours sincerely

    EX Wash Vac customer

    Re: Partscenter Friend or Foe??????

Well following on from my last post and I must thank Washvac_Wayne no doubt for his intervention in spotting my plight here on UKW. 😉

His colleague (I will call Washvac_David if I may?) Telephoned to apologise for the error and has put the relevant wheels in motion as it were, to visit me, demonstrate the features of the Parts Center website and supply the new Parts Center Catalogue.

So things are looking up 😀
