Did anyone get a Xmas card from them? I didnt for the first time in 25 odd years. Remember the days we used to get 2 proper calenders (a shop one and “back room one in plain brown envelope”, a diary/planner book and a couple of bottles of some spirit of some sort. Whatever happened to those days?

Well at last I am the proud owner of the Parts Center Domestic Appliance Genuine Spares Catalogue (which arrived in the post today).
Set out in alphabetical manufacturer listing showing part description, the models it fits, catalogue number, genuine number and if there is an alternative available, that number as well. And every part carries a photograph for easy identification. All in a handy (but thick) A5 size book 😀
At the back of the book is the conversion numbers from the old much loved Wash Vac bin numbers to the new (must have) Parts Center numbers. As well as a comprehensive index and notes section at the very back of the book.
Very useful publication I reckon 😀
Only trouble is, I would like another copy for on the van, so perhaps when you call to see me on Thursday Wayne, you could let me have another copy? 😉

Ah, pleased you spotted that ‘cos it’s a “Genuine Parts Catalogue” after all said and done 🙂
Maybe they will produce another catalogue to include their Invicta range and miscellaneous products later eh?

Had a flick through this morning. I must say I am impressed with the ease of use, quality of pictures and of course those all important part numbers.
Well done Parts Center

Is there any chance they will issue a price list to go with it in the way Wash Vac used to,invaluable for pricing a job out on the road ❓

After spending 10 minutes to get through to the call-centre, the phone-monkey tells me that my Merloni part number isn’t reconised!!!
“068886?”
“Computer says no!”
“C00068886?”
“Computer says no!”
“MER068886?”
“Computer says no!”
What’s the point? I haven’t even tryed the website, because I think I know what will happen 👿

In their defence, it’s an obsolete Philco timer 😉
Ask here first 😀

Nah, that’s for the 1012. We sold 100’s of RWM1041’s 🙄
You remember how wash-vac used to work! If you ordered the same ‘special order’ enough times, it became a stock item.
We bought 100’s of them off wash-vac (twas a very common fault on a 1041) right up until the take-over, and they always had plenty in stock. I know there must be some lying in a bin, somewhere in the warehouse. But because Herloni tells Parts-centre it’s obsolete, it never made it onto the new system 🙁
BTW, I’ve just noticed, if you type MER068886 in connections, in seems to be a different timer to PHL068886.
Both obsolete, so who cares?

I think the many Wash-Vac employees that access this site won’t be too upset at the recent comment over their call centre or that they couldn’t obtain an obsolete part. 😉
Washvac_Wayne called by to see me yesterday to demonstrate the recent and on-going improvements to the Parts Center website. And I was suitably impressed and encouraged by Wash Vac’s (aka) Parts Center approach and commitment to getting their site right and back on track.
Whilst their website may appear a little daunting to navigate through, it is in fact quite simple and a valuable tool once you know which buttons to press. Lots of further improvements to come in the near future apparently, including dealing with the issue of ‘backorders’ and such like.
So be kind and constructive in any criticisms you may have with Parts Center is my advice. They are reading and taking to heart all issues raised here on UKW for the mutual benefit of us all 🙂

The website never was that daunting. It will just always be at the back of the queue when you have software installed on the PC from Electrue/Qualtex, or manufactuers dics. It’s just alot fast for finding spares.
Constructive criticism?
Errr…..errrr……
Sorry about the timer gripe, but it really annoys me that this spare just dissapeared during the takeover. We were buying those while they obsolete for a long time. Sob, sob, good ol’ days, etc.

Just looked up the price of a replacement Creda Solid 6″ Hotplate (Part no: 6224645) for a customer and Parts Center list it at a cool 8) RRP of £94.96 plus VAT 8) (net trade price to me @ £39.29 +VAT)???????
Oh dear…too dear, my dear!
Qualtex equivalent = £8.25 😀
