Kept Koi for 25 years and having spent ???? on the fancy stainless stell cyprio expensive pumps i found that the Clarke submersible’s from CPC were far and above the best value.,

Water and electricity has to be a bad plan. Why does nobody see this?

You can also PM the locations of any fishponds in complete confidence of your anonimity being upheld.

    Re: POND PUMP

    I don’t get it.

Why would you want a pond? And, why would you want to pump it?

    (Cue, Carry On references ;))

I never understood keeping animals that had no point other than to eat them or for protection. This is probably why I don’t get pet cats at all bar mousing duties.

Dogs I get. Can’t eat them without upsetting someone though.

Fish? What’s the point unless they grace a plate at some point? I know that some people probably like to watch them swim about aimlessly but really, it’s food to me. A little fine cutting, rice, wrap them in tasty seaweed, some pickled ginger and a touch of wasabi… yum! 🙂

Which, to be fair to myself is one better that the penguins. They’d just eat them straight out the pond.

There is one good thing about the ponds though Chris, they can’t get away. 😉

I guess I probably spent too long living on a farm and eating what you killed. Now I just see livestock as food or a producer of food. The only exceptions being the things you can’t or wouldn’t want to eat for various reasons, mostly as they don’t taste nice or they’re just too much effort to get food from.

But I and a few slightly disturbed friends used to be highly entertained going fishing… with a rifle.

Actual fishing kit, nets and stuff, is so dull. 😉

But electricity, never thought about that! Think about it Chris, confined body of water, quick blast of current… instant fish on the surface. Really, it’s not such a bad plan.

If the polar ice caps are melting like a huge defective freezer does that mean we got to eat all the Penguins? 😆

    Re: POND PUMP

Our 2 goldfish both died inexplicably about a month ago. Both alive and moving normally, went to feed them later and both were floating around dead as doornails. 😯
It wasn’t clear why this had happened until I went to pull out the pump…… :zap: OMG…the pump must have shorted and the water was live!!! I soon dropped it!! The pump was double insulated and for some reason hadn’t popped the RCD. Fortunately, the shock I got was only for an instant, so I was not hurt.
Poor things – they had been with us for 14 years – my mother in law bought them when my son Sam was born. Needless to say, I have had to look after them ever since. Sam only noticed they were missing this week when he noticed his grandad loading the tank on his car to take it to the tip. This is despite him lifting several Coke bottles down from the shelf where the tank had been…………

    You mis-understand…….

Like the Sandinista in Nicaragua before them, the Penguinista carry out the Antartic Liberation Fronts’ military requirements. Even now, you’re probably surrounded and being watched (Oh, they’ll have scoffed the contents of the pond by now, as well). No fish in the morning? We’ve found you…….
