KeymasterI’ve put the details of the initial press release for e-Jobs on the front page.
More to come, probably tomorrow on this.

KeymasterRe: Press Release – e-Jobs
The e-Jobs module is undergoing final testing, all the code is now written, for it’s initial release.
For now we have to manually enter on all the postcode, manufacturer and skillset information and upload it to the database. On the form in the PDF Downloads it asks for the manufacturers that you cover, “all” or “any” is not a good enough answer I’m afraid for the most part as the idea is to target the work to the stuff that you actually want to do. There is a blanket code, but do you really want to repair a Beko or Teba?
The phone number on the form is an 0870 number, that means a national rate call so, for almost everyone, faxing it back to be would have exactly the same cost involved. However, this is converted to an electronic format so we can deal with it far better as well as keep a record electronically.
If you’ve not submitted the form yet then please do so if you want the chance at some chargeable work, for free!

E-Jobs in now ready to go live !! 😀

A most welcome new addition to the site to start the new year and one which will benefit all of us.
All we need to do now is input the info the guys have given us that have already filled in the E-jobs application form in the downloads section here:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … load&cid=1
If you haven’t already filled one in, please do so if you’d like to recieve chargeable work from the many hundreds of public site visitors we recieve every day, many of them looking for a service engineer to do a repair for them.
We aim to have the service available to the public by the end of the week at the latest, we can all then pick up some chargeable work that maybe wouldn’t have come our way from the many “surfers” out there these days.
There is of course, no cost involved to you the repairer, you just get the call via email and deal directly with the customer charging your normal rate, all UKW is doing is passing the info from the customer to the relevent service engineer in that area.
The only other form to fill in is the members charter which is an agreement to fulfil some basic requirements to meet customer expectation, which to be honest is not at all difficult to achieve 😉
That form is here for download:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … load&cid=2
I also did a small post a few weeks ago explaining what E-Jobs is all about here:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ight=ejobs
Any questions/queries/doubts ? Please ask away.
Happy new year to all UKW members 😀

Just to put this in perspective a little for you all…
In December 2004 we recieved visits from 23922 unique visitors!
To 3.30am on Jan 02/05 we had 1101 unique visitors, yes that’s in 27.5 hours!
Extrapolate those figures over a year, then divide it up per population centre and you get what we’re on about. It’s a staggering reach that, hopefully, is set to grow during 2005 as well and, if it grows even a fraction of what it has in the past six months it will be unbelieveable by the year end.
The question you have to ask yourself is this…
Can you afford not to be a part of it, especially in light of the fact that we’re giving it away for free?

It’s starting to look good I must say and if the success of shop@ is anything to go by, then it will be a winner for us all 😀

KeymasterRe: Press Release – e-Jobs
Just to clarify a few things since we’re getting loads of enquiries regarding Repairs@….
Kevin is dealing with logging all the repairers, any questions relating to the info should go to him.
Dave and I will be entering the data onto the system later on this week once all that information is collated and sorted into a system friendly format. The current timescale is to have all the information by Friday, log it on over the weekend and go live with the system on Sunday or Monday.
The system could go live now, but we want to log on as many repairers as we possibly can and there’s been a few of you that either missed all this or didn’t think we’d actually see it through I think or you just ain’t sent us the information. 🙄
Blanket UK coverage is available to national organisations but there is a cost involved in that, please contact me if you have any queries in that area. Sponsorship of the Repairs@ system is also currently available, again contact me.
The system WILL be weighted towards subscribers to an extent, this was always the intent and gives the subsciption (for what it costs) a lot more value. I like to give value for money, it’s a thing I have.
Hopefully that should clear up most, if not all queries on Repairs@ but if there’s anythign you’re not sure about then please feel free to ask either here or PM/email any one of us and we will assist.

KeymasterBasically the charter is a very basic set of rules, well not so much rules but just good basic practice. If we’d dumbed it down any more you’d have had things like…
I will attempt not to kill, maim or injure my customers.
You know, good common sense stuff without asking for anything that isn’t easily achievable and the vast majority of us will do as a matter of course anyway.
The point of it is to offer some assurance to the customers that they do not need a post for you to tie up the horse on arrival. 😉 😆
