Moderatorto be honest that unusual. mainly use Qualtex and have very little problems but parcels and carriers do fail occasionally. if you order to close to 3 it may be delayed a day but normally that’s all
and there tech staff are second to none connect are a nightmare

Hi Dave,
1. It’s now a 48 delivery if you order before 1230. Apparently it changed in early November but I didn’t see the circular but they did sent me a copy of it. However, their website still states 24hour if ordered by 3pm.
2. I think their takeover of Masterpart customers and now they’ve taken over JEGS just around Christmas time might be the reason they’ve got problems. I think they are just overwhelmed with orders.I’ve just cancelled my order from Tuesday as it’s not yet been desptached. The poor lady on the phone was very good and honest. She just said, we’ve can’t pick the orders quick enough and get them out. I wish they’d told me that two days ago. I could have ordered it elsewhere. Now I’m stuck explaining to my customer for the third day in row why I can’t fix their appliance.
It’s a shame really. They were reasonably priced most times and up until recently, not had any problems. Ah well, off the Maddocks for this order.

ParticipantI agree what a shambles What are we paying for overnight delivery. I ordered Tuesday avening and heard today its going to be delivered Monday. It seems they are not interested in small mbusinesses. I shall use Maddox as much as I can with 4.00 cut off and 60.00 for free delivery

ParticipantQualtex are probably snowed under like everyone else at the moment. (Are enquiries and bookings as crazily high since 1 January as they have been for me?) I suspect when push comes to shove, their ebay outlet LM Electrical has to take priority. With 99.7{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} positive feedback from 1.6 million ratings they are well ahead of Connect’s wow discounts outlet – 99.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} postitive feedback from 0.15 million ratings, so they must be doing something right. They can’t afford to let their ebay sellers down, as a reduction in their feedback profile could be very damaging to their sales.
Connect seem to focus more on their powerful espares brand, with those cheerful (and overly-simplified) how-to videos and late (8.30pm) cut-off for next-day delivery designed to entice a technically-minded, time-poor but relatively prosperous clientele, with freebies such as fridge magnets and free pens to encourage brand loyalty.

ParticipantI’ll be honest, I haven’t really noticed anything different with regards to their deliveries. I had one or two last year that weren’t sent out the same day, probably due to me sending an order at 2.55pm. They are always delivered by DPD, same as Connect and arrive next day. Now maybe they’re going to call me out to be a liar, I’ve got an order to send today with them so we’ll see……

ParticipantYes I agree with others not happy with the two day deliveries, it would have been nice if they could have told us in advance, although to be fair they have amended the wording on their website now.
Just wish Maddocks had a bit more stock then I could say goodbye to Qualtex.

Moderatorhad a delayed delivery which was ordered yesterday but now being delivered tomorrow. I have talked to someone at Qualtex and was assured that they are aware of problems and are taking steps to improve the situation
so give it some time and see how it goes before you jump ship

ParticipantI made an order last Monday 7 Jan and rang up on Thursday 10 Jan to see where it was and it was still in the warehouse for picking which was not great so I cancelled it because I really needed some of the parts swifto and ordered elsewhere, Thinking that the delay was probably due to having free carriage on the order I ordered some parts again on Wed 16 and paid carriage after it says it would default to next day delivery and guess what I am still waiting and hoping that it arrives this monday…very sad really because I really feel that they are too busy selling on ebay to be worried about the old trade customers and it may be a very unwise move in the end.
Incidentally, I have bought stuff from Qualtex ebay shop with free postage and the same price if not cheaper than their trade website, I know times are a changing but Maddocks must be laughing their bollocks off and rightly so.January 20, 2019 at 12:12 pm #459915electrofix
ModeratorWell I know Qualtex read these threads so I would be interested to hear a response

I don’t think their interested Dave and I’m pretty sure they won’t respond.
Two day delivery if you order before 12 is basically a 3 day delivery.I guess that’s their way of telling us to look elsewhere. What a joke for a trade supplier!.
Between Maddocks and Ebay I should be able to cover my parts.January 22, 2019 at 7:49 am #459917washtec
ParticipantMy parcel is arriving today, 6 days after ordering it and paying for next day delivery, better late than never I suppose.
January 22, 2019 at 8:59 am #459918grooster
ParticipantMy parcel is arriving today and I sent the order yesterday at about 2.00pm. I wonder if it makes a difference which office the order is sent from. Ive not had many problems with Denton (Manchester) just the odd thats been delayed by a day.
