Play it low key ATM; so if you can avoid giving Masterpart any commitment that would help. Masterpart do some unusual makes like Siltal so they have a niche that Qualtex don’t cover. But Qualtex are larger, have more branches and also sell finished goods so I think the bigger the player the bigger the benefit to the WTA. We also have to show we are serious to the trade at large and if someone the size of Qualtex is backing us, it can only be good for the cause.
The ink’s hardly dry on the Qualtex deal; but after the meeting with Phil in March / April we will know how Masterpart can fit into the equation without the two companies treading on each others’ toes.
Of course, this is a subject that must be discussed as April will seem to come around in just a few moments. 😉
Hope you guys have a productive day……. 😀Steve.

I thought I’d better get off me a$$ and do something here off my own back.
Response from HT Maddocks this afternoon…
HT Maddocks wrote:Hi Ken,
Europart would definitely like to get involved.
1] We would definitely like to attend the WTA September Meeting and do a presentation. Is this possible, and on what date would it occur?
2] We would like to give some form of sponsorship to the WTA. How we can help?
3] We probably have the most flexible pricing system in the Trade, so it should not be difficult for us to reserve special discounts for WTA members. This could even be given on an invoice-by-invoice basis by way of a final discount off invoice total. What are your thoughts?
I’ll assume you’ll want me just to continue to pursue this and crack on with it. 😉

LOL!
I just came on to ask the same thing!
I’ll see what I can do if nobody knows anyone.
Meet before September, probably not a bad idea as long as we can all do it.

AW Services is a definate ‘must do’ as he seems to hold all the cards on ex – MFI stuff. And as the years go by he is not going to get cheaper….at least that’s what normally happens……

I’ll tackle AW if you like as that’s an easy one to do for me.

I believe they came to UKWG meeting many moons ago and offered their services not sure whether they will offer any extra discount structure.
I have spoken to my local Unifit/homespare guy who will get me a name.
I use unifit alot as he only lives down the road from me so any spares i need just call and collect, not always the cheapest but he has always got stock.
I have a contact name for them, Ask for Andy Swarsbrick, tell them got number from me via Adrain Davies.
They are happy for anyone to open account havent discussed any discounts at this stage but those who dont already use them start up then maybe later in the year approach them again for negociation. If you would like to use my guy for spares you can call him direct mention me and he can ship out direct. His Name is Adrian Davies 07831 287395.

Is there any mileage in trying to get some interest and discount from a whitegoods supplier for WTA members who sell appliances?
