Well finally got it all up and working.
I found that I had to download the earlier .net frameworks thingy (ie version 1.1.4322).
If you download the latest .net frameworks it won’t work.Anyway it’s all working now and windows has updated the .net thingy, and its still working ok.
Placed an order today so fingers crossed!!!!

well i agree with most comments never have i seen a less well planned change over to a new system. i found out this was happening an hour before i was to place an order that spareslink had been switched off. if this had been a military battle we would have been conquered by now.
I for one will; miss spareslink i used it to the full. we used the multiplier to set retail prices to customers so everybody was quoting the same price. I used the comments box to give stock locations and most of all if we ordered a part for a customer the special ref box gave enough room to put a name, a mobile number, plus price quoted and deposit paid. the new one is only 20 characters and one you have sent it you cannot access it on the website again plus the fact you could search spareslink on the special ref box so if a cust walked in you could search by customers name as most cannot remember what they ordered or it is so vague as to make it difficult to find this facility was very useful recently when a cust walked in and wanted the same paper bags as last time and did not know anything else
it would be interesing to find out who else uses these facilities as according to the rep i was one of a few and if more people want it the will write the code if not hard luck

Yep big fan of the old system here. A very trade oriented order and stock system, whilst the new one seems like something designed for the odd purchaser and designed to be used by the public rather than the trade. Little things like finding an invoice number for a faulty part to go back for credit was a doddle.
The first I knew about it changing was my rep asking for a new password, no official letters or anything from Qualtex themselves. They only needed to add a letter in the parcels for the last month or so, not too difficult I would have thought.
One plus point over connect and BSH is that, although the log in programme was an inconvenience to download and install, once logged in you stay logged in for it seems the duration you keep the window open.
A big downer is no invoice in the box anymore, not even a packing note to check off the items on and the stock and price checking seems to take an eternity.
Verdict? It will loose them customers.June 20, 2008 at 5:33 pm #253555waters

One thing that winds me up is that when you place an order some parts don’t turn up but the online system shows stock and to make it worse they are not showed on the invoice as out of stock 😈

Hi
Placed my first order on line Tuesday and all seem to go well!!
That is until I rang them today to ask where the order is.I am very sorry I was told but problem with system and my order had not printed out or what ever technical terms are used. After chasing order will now be processed.
May be worth checking out any outstanding orders you may have as I was not the first today to have that problem.
Very nice lady gave me some credit on carriage costs to compensate.

Hi this is Philip Hulme MD of Qualtex. I have read all the posts and there are a few things that the trade should be aware of. Eurorealm who wrote stocklink and spareslink started to overcharge dramatically. Each new report we needed or fault fixing cost us £500 . They had a go at designing a new web site to work alongside spareslink but it was a disaster.if you searched fan oven element it found DC07 stair tools. The final straw was they increased our anual maintenance from £8000 to £40000 and the relationship fell apart. Also it was very difficult to keep spareslink up to date with pictures and data. The trade customers requested a web system and that is what we have done but unfortunatly we could not run the two together. We are working very hard behind the scenes to get the pricing correct and IT issues sorted and we are getting there. Remember we have the call centre open from 08.30 until 19.00 everyday on 01795 592570 if anyone has major problems please call Angela Hughes on ext 213. Our call centre is not a premium rate number.Or info@qualtexuk.com

one thing i cannot fault is the quality of their technical staff the call centre is helpful and efficient which is good when the ordering system is a mess. I ring them that often i could do with a dedicated line and an invite to their christmas party
i have parts that have not been ordered due to the changeover and the complaints due to that. i have problem administering the new system with the lack of facilities. I hate the new part numbers with qua at the beginning trying to find one part on an invoice when they all begin with Q is time consuming
@parker hi phil can you give us updates as to where you are with the system what updates are coming and roughly when. i understand that beta testing can be a problem but i will test anything for you and feed back. you say the trade customers wanted a web based system i am a trade customer and i did not get the chance to express any opinion. I am looking forward to this getting better cause at the mo it cant get much worse
to all Qualtex customersAs Qualtex are reading this post this is where you need to put your views +ve or -ve about the new system if we dont tell them they will never know
