Colchester I think it’ll be. We had a bit of a discussion about it last night but the venue will be confirmed soon enough.
Should be worth attending though and, if you’re going Deltra, I’ll make sure David is there so you can give him some stick in person. 😉

What he didn’t tell anyone (asides posting it in the wrong forum, technically but it’s still worth winding him up about it ;)) is what we had been working on for the meeting. Probably because some of it he won’t know but anyways, on with the show..
I’ve been getting pressure applied to do an episode of Bob The Engineer (BTE) that I was going to skip. The plan was to do it last September but, time got away from me and it didn’t all work out and so, episode 2 was skipped and I was just going to leave it be and skip to episode 3. For anyone that missed February ’09, you’ll catch up when you see the presentations, if you decide to attend of course. And, even if you don’t, I may have a cure for that with the aid of some assistants.
Ep2 of BTE is all about trade accounts. Profit, loss, return on investment and all that sort of stuff but, I’ve tried to get it into an understandable and sorta simple format that’s easy to understand. I’m not saying that anyone’s dumb but I do realise that there’s not many graduates of business school repairing appliances. Asides from which I got chewed out today by a very good friend about not banging on about understanding costs and, explaining it all, in light of certain rate changes… among other things. So, BTE2 is back on the cards and may be extended a bit.
Yes I know accounts stuff is as dull as dishwater but I’ll try my best to make it engaging and entertaining. You never know, you may learn something useful as well.
BTE3, well, we’ll see. Let’s just say I don’t like “dull” too much.
John will be there for ISE and… err… other stuff.
Both Qualtex and Masterpart will be there for Q & A and, I hope, someone from HT Maddocks as well. You can meet and discuss spares stuff in a separate room, open accounts, hassle or haggle for better spares discounts… whatever. To be fair to them all, they’re well up for meeting repairers. There may well also be products to play with.
On that note, the products one, there might be a surprise if Santa delivers on time. I can say no more. 😉
Amica will also be there and, probably, a distributor or two as well. If you want to see the people and open accounts or whatever, then this is a golden opportunity to do so.
Questions from the floor will be handled in the same way as ever, speak up and you get a shot and, we’re going to use a little technology this time around as well. If you want to ask a question you will be able to use Twitter to do so off a phone, laptop, iPad… whatever so, you don’t even need to speak. This also allows you to ask a question anonymously if you so choose. I’ll post the details closer to the time.
We’ll ignore some of course because it’s probably best for all involved.
For those of you that were at the last big meeting I know that at the back of the room some people struggled to hear until we got in a PA system. Well, solved. Largely in part to a certain Penguin45 who has most graciously offered to help with that side of things and, it is very much appreciated. So, we’ll have a PA from the get-go.
And, an apology to Chris for the last meeting where he brought it and we didn’t use it, I’m still sorry about that.
Obviously there’s some stuff that I either don’t know will come off in time or that I just can’t confirm yet.
All in all, it’s going to be packed and worth making the effort to attend if you possibly can do so.
