You need to make your pictures a bit smaller Jem, it’s causing the thread to only display half the screen, and that’s on my wide screen monitor.

I have shrunk it for you. 😉

Electrolux Integrated Washing Machine E66, Heating Element always closed, cleaned board from carbon deposits and replaced 400v 10uf Capacitor C31. Job done

    Re: SIMPLE PCB REPAIR TIPS

I’ve decided to take the plunge to repair the Indy board, a wixl model with all lights flashing. Instead of paying £30-40 to send it out to be repaired, naturally I would rather save money, do the repair myself and pocket the profit.

I found a blown capacitor and purchased some new ones from RS for £1 for a pack of 5 (680f 10v). Thinking that I am on the roll until I used my soldering iron that I had for a while (it’s quite new about 2 years old and only used about 4 times), turns out that it was not hot enough. Do I need to purchase the 50w soldering iron to do the job? If so, will I need to buy flux that can handle higher temperature?

The one I have may be unsuitable perhaps the one I have could be classed as a hobby iron.

Some help would be appreciated… BTW Happy New Year to you all.

25 watt iron is enough but you have to scrape off the varnish to be able to melt the solder

    Beko tumble dryer DCU8230

    original symptoms blowing RCD

checked element found NTC to earth replaced element and still would not heat.
traced fault to resistor on board that had blown. nicked resistor off old Hotpoint board
    fault cured

I was asked to look at a Miele PW6080 LPED
This is a Miele professional machine and is situated in a nursing home laundry
Original fault is the machine would not start. There was no noise when the start button was pressed

I removed the top of the machine and inspected the circuit board and found this

As you can see there is a burn mark between the orange relays

The part once removed looked like this

This component is actually a self-resetting fuse that feeds the door locking solenoid. If you look at the markings it gives a voltage (240v) plus L 016 which means 0.16 amps or 160ma

this is the replacement from RS

here is the new component in place

here is the board re installed in the machine

all working fine now very simple fix to a very expensive board

hope it helps someone as I cant see this component only being in these machines

Beko 2018/2019 onwards Washing Machine and Washer Dryer main board repair.
The common fault with these is a no life fault, this is usually caused by diode D7 being a dead short (image below).

The origanol diode is an SR110 which is a 1A diode but it may be a good idea to use a higher rated diode like a SBYV27-150 (RS Part No: 629-5232) or equivalent.

Following on from the Beko no life issue, was told ideally you need to use a Shottky diode rather than RS part previously given. Here’s the one I have just used on a washer dryer:
