Every so often I like to share the litle bits of statistical trivia about the site, if it’s interesting to you then good. 😉
I was thinking that the high page hit count the past week or two was web crawlers doing their thing again but it was too sustained. Then I noticed the patterns in the traffic figures that seemed to suggest something not quite so random. In trying to work this out, which I think I have, I revisited Alexa (not the man from Oz, the website) and found the following…
I have to say I was a bit pleased with that, it’s a result to be ranked in the top quarter million sites in the world. It’s also nice to see that UKW is actually beating quite a few manufacturers for traffic, now that’s irony for you. 😆
Thing is that the one week average actually says that we’re in the top 50,000 websites, worldwide! 😯
Now I know why I keep getting recipricol link junk mails. 😕
Anyways apart from that just a little over six months into 2005 we’re about to top the page views figure for the WHOLE of last year!
We’re still getting about 1000 or so unique visitors a day to the site using about 20Gb or bandwidth a month.
We’ve also passed over 350 calls out through Repairs@ to engineers the length and breadth of the UK in May and June.
We fully expect to top 5 million page views before the end of 2005.
I’d say we weren’t doing too badly. 😉

No, the record stands at over 25.000 page view in one day. You can see the current top record isn the stats bit.

You may have noticed that I’ve chopped down the front page a little. this is in response to people’s comments on the front page as well as a design house that have looked at it and some of the suggestions were implimented.
Over the coming months we’ll probably make some more changes, some of them may even be a bit radical but, as with most things, we have to evolve, change and get better. The goal is to make the site easier to use and navigate, especially from the public’s point of view. In effect, there’s more to come in time.
