Email away about an hour ago, all sites on the same server are slow, as Ken says it’s probably pure traffic, I’ll have a more definitive answer in the morning hopefully 😀

Just goes to show the excellent support UKW gets :-
I don’t know whether the web crawlers are out in force or something (msn,
yahoo, google, etc) but there were lots of activities. The problem is that
we couldn’t really block them, otherwise your ranking would nose dive.Nowt to worry about, we’re getting crawled which gives us more chance of being found by the search engines which is good news 😀

If I am having problems here I often logon to two other forums I frequent to compare, tonight they are both flying whist UKWG is very slow, although it has just gone back to normal.

AAAGGHHH. The site has been very hit and miss for the last few days, and at all times of day, just timed out halfway through submitting a reply.
Anyone else find the same?

Not long now before I get the free upgrade from 2 meg to 10 meg, then things should really start to fly. 🙂

It won’t matter what speed you’re running at if the server’s down; if it can’t be found then it will time out for everyone just the same.
🙁

I wasn’t just thinking of ukwg, a full Cd in seconds will be quite nice, 🙂 just a pity that upload speeds lag so far behind downloads.

My nickname is not ‘Honest Jim’ for nothing, mainly use Msn music, don’t have an I Pod, prefer my music from nice sound systems at home or in the car, although I know you can play I Pods through the car radio.

Lets face it guys but due to the increased traffic at peak times this site simply is not up for the job!
I’ve fuffed and farted around thinking it must be at my end, rebooted my PC more times than I’ve had hot dinners suspecting I’ve done something wrong. No way….!
10 million views by springtime? Dream on! It coughs and splutters like an old steam train just when you need the info within in seconds, I’ve been 30 minutes trying to get a page to load after which it comes up “Server not found!”……..bugger it, I’ll come back before I go to bed to see if it fires up then?

It has been very unpredictable for the past week, and not just at peak times, here or in the USA. I sometimes put myself in the position of a first time punter wanting advice, I would find it very frustrating.
