The machine does not show any error codes! No lights on the panel to say their is a fault! And I know it is supposed to according to the instruction Manuel , that’s why i think the board is faulty

KeymasterResettable stat and blocked side fill would be my first port of call before replacing the PCB.

the machine does not have a reset stat on it nor does it have a side valve, it has one stat mounted in the door, and one inlet valve and one regen valve, and that’s all that’s to it (I think) if anyone knows if this machine has a reset stat on it where is it, the temperature is controlled by the stat on the door and the pcb(I think)
i have read on another post that you can reset the board by hitting the program button 4 times? what button and does it work

ParticipantDerek, the d/w being talked about is a different model with a totally different timer so don’t go by that. What wash did you put it on? When I test these out, I either put them on a rinse so its basically fill-wash-drain all in about 10mins. The other is the glass wash, fill-wash-soap disp opens-heater functions and about 20 mins later it drains. I confess it sounds like the timer pcb, however, if it goes sort of quiet, turn m/c off, remove the outer door also the inspection cover/plate (pigs ear I know) and turn m/c back on and listen very carefully, is the wash motor making a humming sound. If your not sure obtain a long length of wood, place one end to the motor impellor housing (white in colour) and the other place your ear. By this method you should notice if there is a noise or not from the motor.
Oh yes you have to be specific on the model number now when ordering a timer, they now look the same but they are not the same (trust me I am a retired brain surgeon).
All the best

Thanks for the reply! The machine goes dead i can’t confess to hearing any noise from the motor, but i have tried the machine on all programs with the same fault! What’s getting me is that when the machine starts! the pump runs for some time before it starts to fill (never done a smeg d/w) but after the pump stops running and the machine then fills and starts to wash for a couple of minutes! Then it cuts out the dispenser door does not open, i would have thought it would have (tested solenoid ok) but the fault might be before it gets to that part! I thought as soon as the machine fills the heater should come on?

Thanks oldtog!!! Now had a look at the wiring diagram and can see that the heater gets it feed from the pressure switch and the board! (Sort of thought that anyway) my conclusion is that the relay for the heater is not switching as the pressure switch is ok! But that begs the question why the led is not coming on to say that their is a fault on the heating stage? Anyway I am going to go for the board anyone got any idea of cost for this pcb?

Hi OT,
The fill chambers gunk up in soft water areas, especially where the water is peaty, dead common fault that throws up all sorts of weird fill/empty faults. I think it sends the PS mental. TBH I’ve not looked into it too much.
It’s well worth checking the fill chamber or air break as Smeg call it before changing the timer IMO.
I thought that was the older one with the reset, didn’t have the info to hand and was going from memory, but it’s the tube heater one I see. Although I think, from memory again I’d have to check though, that that’s a fairly common timer to fail. 😕

ParticipantKen,
They changed the air-break from the side of the salt pot which can back fill from the m/c sump with waste gunk. It now fills via the top of the salt unit so no back fill occurs. The pressure switch is no longer attached to the air-break, it is fed from the base sump via a long tube that is attached to the r/h/s of m/c and comes back to the pressure switch, again to prevent gunk from entering the switch. The problem now on occasions is when m/c fills within a few mins it drains then fills etc; if the door is opened quick enough you would find the water level above part the lower spray arm. Should this happen the timer and pressure switch need replacing.Hi P45 long time no sqeek (sorry) anyway Derek, timer about £120

You have got to be joking £120 for that pcb is that retail? Because I would never pay that for the board and I don’t expect my customer will be! I would rip the thing out and replace it with a free standing machine!
Mind the machine is just over 2yrs and the customer has already said if it going to be expensive he will just go out and buy a £200 freestanding dishwasher! And let’s face it who can blame him as the smeg is a heap of crap!June 29, 2007 at 6:17 am #218880derek
ParticipantRe: SMEG BUILT IN DISHWASHER HELP!!! REQ PLEASE
After doing a little exercise on the comet web site!! Given the choice who would pay £120 for a pcb and £40+vat repair bill to fix a 2yr old smeg integrated dishwasher! When you can buy a BEKO integrated full size dishwasher for £200! And I know what you are all thinking it’s a BEKO but let’s be totally honest it’s probably just as good as the basic smeg machine? And for the money it probably performs as well!
What’s the world come to?
