ParticipantHi all,
I’ve got a problem with my Smeg DWD1SSE-1 dishwasher in that it won’t start at all. The power light is on as is the eco light but will not respond when I press the start button.
My wife said the door felt a bit stiff the night it went down. I’ve previously replaced the soap dispenser (thanks to advice on here and that fixed the last problem – thanks!). This time I examined the pcb and it was burnt out (black residue over it). The power all round the house tripped so I’m guessing this issue tripped the house’s RCD.
I’ve replaced the pcb but to no avail……any help would be gratefully received!

Does anyone know how to reset the above model? I tried pressing start 4 times with the door open (and closed) several times but to no avail….although I could have sworn a couple of times there was a solitary clunk from the base of the unit.
I’m guessing the door mechanism may be the problem but from reading on here the pcb blowing may have taken the soap dispenser out but I’m hesitant to spend another £60 on parts.

Anyone know if the pcb numbers should be the same?
The burnt-out pcb number seems to be 1613130 while the replacement pcb number is10613000?
It’s fits OK and the new pcb lights up the “eco” led but that’s all.

I’m afraid there’s a distinct possibility that the root of the problem is the dispenser solenoid which has now damaged your new pcb 😕
Maybe time to get an engineer to inspect?

Sorry…misread your postings! I assume the machine worked ok after replacing the dispenser in which case the door switch may well be the problem.
The only way to check this is to open it up and meter the switch.
Power off at all times :zap:

Thanks for the advice. Yes, the soap dispenser was replaced about a year ago and the machine has worked fine until last week.
Electrically we’ve linked out the door switch but still will not start.
Not sure if this is helpful but inserting the old pcb results in the 2 far right lights coming on while the new pcb does the same but also lights up the “eco” light.
Looking at the carbonised pcb the connection “A5” was the carbonised section – do you happen to know what this controls?

The door closed firmly (the standard clicking noise as per usual). Power on then hit start and nothing happens at all.

Participantalso try and reset the dishwasher
Switch the dishwasher on and press the programme button 4 times, within 3 seconds.
1st and 5th lamps should light Note:You may have to do this several times before it works
switch off
count to 10,
switch on
run the rinse programme onlyIT IS ALSO POSSIBLE YOU HAVE THE WRONG PCB IN THE MACHINE IF FOR EXAMPLE YOU HAVE THE JANUARY 2009 MODEL AND SMEG CHANGED THE MODEL IN MID 2009 THEY MAY HAVE CHANGED THE PCB THE MACHINE MAY LOOK THE SAME HAVE THE SAME MODEL NUMBER BUT PARTS ARE DIFFERENT

ParticipantRe: Smeg DWD1SSE-1 won’t start
Just to answer your earlier question the last time I had a problem (about a year ago) the machine beeped started for less than a second then stopped – I replaced the soap dispenser and all was well.
This time abosolutely zero activity! – the only difference between the carbonised pcb and the new one is the eco light comes on solid with the new one.
